Locked out of the Portugese thread after posting simultaneously with Stan (timed 1.02 v 1.04)...it seems to be a refresh problem... could be my ISP caching... or the fact that I posted to a thread I had open after Stan had posted in-between. Trying a new thread to update the index page.
nope...
Bookmakers in turmoil.... some beauty differences of opinion on this one...
2 recent disappointments surprisingly head the betting:
Bickerton as low as 14/1 at Coral but more realistic 25/1 bet365
Brian Davis 16/1 Surrey but nearer the mark at 28/1 Coral.
Have to leave them alone as I bear...
Although his course form is not brilliant 25th in 99' and 32nd in 2000 - on current form Scott Lay**** has to be fancied at the 33/1 available at Stan James (20/1 W Hill & Bet365, 16 Ladbrokes & 14 Coral). ANZ 2nd, Heineken 11th, Australian Open 2nd (late last year) plus a host of top 5's in...
Although this is probably a very dodgy betting event.... if there are any early bird types after the worm... www.paddypower.com have priced up at 1/4 lst 4.
As the Spanish maestro did us a favour last week (this week pending)... some of the 40/1 available had to be taken as an interest bet.
www.betsmart.co.uk ceases to trade 31st January, outstanding bets will be honoured. "No longer viable due to 0% tax in UK shops". This could be the start of a few closures over here as last week Stanley were whining about a ?6m loss from their site. Now it is 0% tax in shops they have lost...
Another crowd puller... this close season is busier than when golf is still on.
Golly it's got to be Olly at the generous 11/1 with the Tote. Interesting comments at: http://www.europeantour.com/tournaments/fullreport.sps?iTourno=2001086&id=1056060
Olaz?bal, who finished tied with Jaidee...
William Hill & Surrey the only 2 seen quoting so far.
Big difference of opinion on Dean Wilson (3 time Japan winner this year)
Surrey have him 20/1 Joint favourite but 50/1 is available at William Hill.
P.S. Come on Ian... stuck in the traps again?

A real horses for courses event with Ernie Els winning the last 2 and Nick Price the 2 before that.
At 4/1 1/4 1-2-3 (Surrey, Tote, Betsmart) Ernie looks a solid each way. Most Recent finishes first Win, Win, 6th, 2nd, 2nd
Only found Corals quoting so far...
But Shingo Katayama 14/1 recent form :
3-17-4-10-8-4-1-17-4(uspga)
and Taichi Teshima 28/1 recent form :
2-2-9-mc-1
look big on home soil when a player like Mcginley is as short as 7/1
Another event where the atmosphere may not be electric... but somebody has to win it.
With the Tote David Toms is 11/2 and this looks massive in a 4 competitor field.
Unlike the other 3 players he did not play Japan and could be fresher
Raphael Jacquelin looks interesting at 20/1 with Tote & Ladbrokes (as low as 12/1 elsewhere). Prior to last weeks missed cut in Germany (gives him more time to practice here) he had 6 top 20's in his last 8 outings. Earlier in the year had a further 4 top 10's including a 2nd in the English...
