Is it correct to expect steam on Chiefs line if Patriots lose Saturday?

Patriots win Saturday and the Chiefs can probably forget about a first round bye, while a Pats loss would totally open the door for the Chiefs, thus, hypothetically, giving them considerably more motivation. Chiefs currently -5 but the +103 I got shortly after opening is now gone and I see -119...

I'm noticing a pretty consistent (and surprising) 1st period trend

Teams playing on back-to-back nights have been kicking ass in the 1st period in the 2nd game. I noticed this about 3 or 4 weeks ago and have been seeing it constantly since. My limited google searches (so far) have only yielded limited stats from 2017 or earlier. If anybody can comment--maybe...

After watching the NFL, it's refreshing to see kickers actually be able to make kicks

What's the story? All these college kickers end up becoming soccer analysts or something? As mentioned, it's nice to see the kicking such a non-adventure. Just my 1.5 cents.

when did they stop paying kickers?

I assume it was something like that. It's amazing how consistent the shitty kicking has been all year. Even extra points are an adventure. I prefer watching quality, in any sport, so this is bewildering.

help--I'm looking for software for tracking wagers (database, I presume)

Looking for something where I can track my performance with the obvious splits, sides vs totals, and money line, spread, parlays, teasers, etc, not to mention that I follow and bet on mlb, nfl, ncaa football, nhl and nhl, not to mention the occasional shot at European hockey, soccer, and others...

    Bears@Rams un21 at +1000 anyone?

I saw this pre-game. Looked tempting. 21-30 points total (Pinnacle) was +500. A look at these teams game totals this year, however, made that less attractive. Still a long way to go. 3-0 early 2nd. I Lied, actually...is(was) under 20.5 (point range 0-20).

does anybody know of a source (video) for Strasburg's 23 K performance in college?

I remember looking for this back when he was drafted or during his rookie year. It was San Diego St vs Utah, and the Aztecs won 1-0, w.Stras's 23 K's being a big part. There has been a crappy 2-minute video available on youtube for ages, now, but I'd dig watching the full game (might help...

are the umpires being sent to the principal's office?

Only thing I can think of, re this delay. Sounds like the decision is made. Goofy decision, really.

crap...I was looking forward to a really good game tonight

Please tell me you all know about the Scherzer scratch, which I quite recently heard about. I just came in to see what words or news were out about that. Not betting, at present, but still loving sports (esp. bases, this time of year) and game #1 was the most entertaining, so far. sucks...

I guess I'm finally not breaking the law

As I sit here in the privacy of my own ballgame. Allegedly. Today. whatevas Mind you, I could still be transgressing as I got a flyer with the mail on "The Cannabis Act-Here's What You Need to Know" One line on the flyer states: "Legal cannabis has an excise stamp appearing in different...

any news on umpire crews for games #163?

Of course, I'm specifically curious about who's calling the balls and strikes. I did a number of searches--just previous to this post--and I can find nothing. I'm considering Brewers team total over for the first game, currently showing 3.5 for game or over 2 for 1st5, with a nice +118 on the...

Bryse Wilson reminds me of a young Roger Clemens

No shit. Thought that right away--1st inning. Has the same body shape with that powerful upper body. Might be a good one for years with the stamina to consistently put up 200 quality innings. Time will tell. Chuckin' a beauty, tonight. In trouble twice (thru 5) but pitched great to work...

any good examples out there of teams tanking in order to adjust their seeding?

I'm hearing some discussion of this during the World Cup. Belgium-Germany in order to avoid Brazil, next game, is one example. I'm looking for historical examples of something similar, if anyone can help. Any sport is fine. Teams tanking for draft position isn't really what I'm looking for...

    wazzup with Padres Lyles?

I just noticed mlb_com says he threw 0 pitches. i.e. no action-like. They also give him a 'game score' of 40. Apparently the default for just being named starter, or taking the mound and then getting hit by lightning or whatever happened. Totally cool my way as I have ov8 closing a big enough...

anybody read 'The Big Fix-__Hunt for Match-Fixers Bringing Down Soccer'-Brett Forrest

    ouch I just heard this interview: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Q1nvawoxjG4" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe> He's clearly hung up on in-game wagering being a major part of match-fixing but it doesn't sound like...

learning the(alleged or otherwise) lyrics to songs you thought you knew the lyrics to

Can sometime be weird, or even painful (example of latter shortly). Looking for others experiences with same, but here's a couple from myself. I needed another shot of Rush, after posting some BS that also contained a link to a Rush tune (In the End). The follow-up wasn't my fave by them but...

anyone read Red Card by Ken Bensinger (2018) on FIFA corruption?

Anybody read this? I'm about 1/3 of the way through. Nothing new, really--big money involved in tv contracts and bids to host events, like the World Cup, and this is just some more exposure of the nonsense that goes on between people who have money and people who have money but want more...

why I stopped using dailybaseballdata com for weather info

Was my primary source for years, regarding wind etc. Totally out to lunch this year; there does seem to be a pattern, though, as they have their wind directions almost precisely backwards for every game this year, in case that's the only thing you have available . I stopped a couple...

trying to remember which Adam Curtis flic had the following archival footage

I'm trying to remember which of his documentaries, and which episode, had the footage of the experiment regarding the monkey. Might have been a Rhesus Macaque but it was a monkey, regardless. Some experimenters had it tied up--immobile, in essence--with its head in a spring-locked vice setup...
