YYZ thats the point I was trying to make a couple replies back. I was being some what funny. But as you say the numbers everyone seems to bring up. Always lean infavor of those looking for the best number for there cause. It's all gotten so confusing I dont know anymore who should be bitchng. Maybe its time the majority opens it's mouth. I for one dont care how many coaches are pink, green or what ever. But if what there are saying as I said above. There should be 6.5 black coaches in the NFL. get it done and move on. And holly chit becarefull if you get more then 8 or 9.

i know that i wouldn't. when i had my business, i hired who i thought was the best person for the job, i didn't care what color or nationality the applicant was. and i'm sure millen hired who he thought was best suited to work with him. that's the way it is supposed to be.
i don't know why the people who favor of affirmative action don't see anything wrong with this. it's a demeaning practice.
i wonder if jackson didn't threaten tagliabue that he would do the same thing to the nfl with what he is doing to nascar?

Communism really embraces the erosion of private property rights for a common interest. The current anti freedom rage is the common interest of diversity. Do you think they just want interviews no the goal is Quotas as in antifreedom of choice. Right now it is the absurd you better interview some minorities or i will fine you and call you a racist . Get real they want to control the right of free enterprise which allows the hiring of best qualified individuals and force a dictatorial style mandate upon the private sector.

denny green also settled a couple of sex harrassment lawsuits in mn. While married one gal claimed he got her preg and then coerced her into an abortion, plus another lawsuit by women in the vikings organization both settled. Denny in is book threatened to sue the vikes for ownership rights. The last couple of years denny also refused interviews with all local media. The white guy who took over for denny makes about 20% of whar denny made . Other than that and a terrible post season record it must be because he is black that he did not get the frisco gig. Why not mandate that women.gays, transgenders,bisexuals, ect. also be given interviews after all they deserve equal access to head coaching jobs.
Good point, yyz. I would say that the percentages fall this way simply for one good reason - The best athlete was hired to do the job. Period! Why is head coaching any different? Hell, the good players make more than the coaches do! If it is all about money, then why aren't white people demanding that the athlete percentages be re-aligned to reflect the population? After all, the atheletes make all the money!
Why is there no athlete quota? :shrug: Please tell me that!!

But the athlete example is not a good one. Everyone can try out just like anyone else. There is no discrimination when choosing someone for a team. If there is discrimination in choosing NBA players it would be more for height, not color. BJ Armstrong had a hard time getting in the league, but once he was there he proved himself. They almost didn't let him try out because they didn't think he was over 18.
I still think this NFL situation going on is ludicrous, though. Jon Salley and the other black guy on Best Damn were actually taking up for it and said it didn't matter that the interviews would have been token interviews. I really felt like Jon Salley did not agree with the stance that he was verbally taking. He looked uncomfortable talking about it.:shrug:

Gardenweasel is right about the fact Detroit TRIED to interview a few minority candidates yet word was out they were going to hire Mariucci. The blame for Millen's fine should be squarely on Tagiabue's shoulders; as he oblivious to this fact.
