Three Dog Night

Three Dog Night

First group I ever saw live was 3 dog night at geauga lake amusement park outside of Cleveland for free in 1967 or 1968. Tonight they are playing (for free once again) at the Taste of Blue Ash over 40 years later (suburb of Cincinnati just north of shambala). Thinking about taking the old shoe (sure as I'm sittin here), drinking a few cocktails, even though my mama told me not to come, I might listen to Jerimiah while waitin for my cousin Eli who may be comin, while figuring out what the lonliest number is, after dancing to the music and celebratin. Anyone remember any hits they had?

I was at that concert you mention and it was my first concert as well. I live in Northwest Ohio now, but back then I was a kid growing up with my family in Macedonia, Ohio. I went to this with my brothers and have very vivid memories and I can tell you that this concert was in 1969. It was also the first year that Geauga Lake Amusement Park introduced their new monorail system. The opening act to this show was Cleveland's own James Gang with Joe Walsh. I'm not certain but if memory serves, I do believe that Smokey Robinson and the Miracles also played at this concert. I was very excited to see your comment because I could not for the life of me seem to find any more info on this event. I was hoping to find maybe a poster or ticket stub but have had no luck whatsoever. Thank you so much for your post on this concert because I've been trying for years to find information on this and still have hopes that I can find some more.

Well it was there at least for that season because all my brothers and myself rode it for sure. I'm sure it could be researched. I guess you don't remember any of the other acts that played at that concert since I didn't hear you confirm what I know, but it was a long time ago. That was the last time I visited Geauga Lake Park as we moved to Northwest Ohio about a year after that. At any rate and once again, thank you for being the one and only person that I've come in contact with that attended that concert so far. I'll most certainly be trying to find more info on it now that my curiosity has been sparked.

Matthew K's 1st post and he digs up something from 2009??

I ran across this post by accident when I Googled "Three Dog Night at Geauga Lake Park." I saw no date on it and had no idea that it was from 2009. I did however mention that I've been trying to find out information for a long time on the first concert that I ever attended and was excited to finally, after all these years,( almost 50) see something about it. So as far as my first post is concerned, it was only something that I thought others, especially the one that I was replying to, would be interested in. I was hoping to get additional info on the concert from others who may have attended as well. That was the only reason I commented on this post at all. I hope that clarifies things for everyone interested. Thank you.
