somewhere over the rainbow
Am I missing something? Isn't tonight's game meaningless? Shouldn't the Lions rest there starters?

Vikings 14-2
Lions 13-2
Lions win 14-2, still have to beat Vikings for 1 seed and 1st rd bye
Lions lose 13-3, beat Vikings next week. Lions 14-3. Vikings 14-3 Lions 2-0 H2H vs Vikings. Lions 1 seed

Any thoughts???

Yes tonight is meaningless.

Campbell is an idiot and will probably get 3 more starters hurt tonight playing them the entire game with a short week for all the marbles next Sunday night.

Only Dan Campbell is dumb enough to play starters in a game that is LESS important than a preseason game ahead of a short week coming from the west coast before the biggest game of the year.

Everyone likes that he goes for it, but it's not because he's innovative or smart. He's just a hyperaggressive meathead. He got a pass somehow for blowing the NFC championship game with going for it on every fourth down no matter what.

His organization should save him from himself and have the guys rest.

Wait I could be wrong because they play Minnesota it doesn’t matter right? Fuck this is confusing me trying to figure this out. What does the tie breaker come down to if the both have same record division record and heads up record?

To be completely clear. If Detroit loses to sf and beats minn they are the 1 seed because they will have swept minn and have the same record.

The game tonight is completely meaningless for them.

This isn’t hard.

You think win or tie matters? How many ties in the nfl this year.

Come on.

Yes, I just saw the games, you are correct, And also Campbell is crazy, in a normal world without all those favs winning SF is the play, but right now I do not knowwww

But if they win tonight then they can either Win OR Tie next week for number one seed.. right?
I can’t tell if you are being facetious or think playing starters to allow for a tie makes rational sense.

He’s nuts. He will probably play them at least part of the game. Sf is really awful and a mess. Detroit could easily win.

I’m just legit confused on this situation. Not talking shit or anything I honestly don’t know. But I mean like the tie almost came into play for Denver the other night? Idk bro. Wasn’t trying to play devils advocate just adding that if they do win tonight then the tie is also an option. 🤷‍♂️

Well, I was listening Nick Saban talk about the bowls and he said that the biggest problem is getting people out of tackling practice, and in practice squad they do not get the same training as playing, so maybe 1 or 2 drives may be ok for that trainning

Public all over lions, meaningless game for playoff hopes. Why not smash the niners?
I mean I did that but sf blows ass. I don’t feel good at all about it. Was hoping he would come to his senses. Probably will do something where he plays them a series or two.

I don’t think that’s necessary at this time of year. Health and rest are massively important. Maybe he thinks they don’t have enough injuries already.

Well, ties are less than 1% probability based on history, 29 in all the league time and no one since 2022, very improbable
