A movie props guy like me cant pass this up right??? :tongue

Will Dreamgirls win both supporting categories
YES even money (2 units-max limit of 200$) The Greek
This one was pretty obvious for me if you dont wanna lay big chalk on supporting categories. Jennifer Hudson (-400) is a LOCK to win that one and Eddie Murphy should get it done too (-180). You get both winning at even money and dont need to lay the chalk? GIMME THAT!!!

Will add maybe as we're gonna get closer... :SIB

had brokeback +1000 early last year, went to -800 and then CRASH beat it  ... there seems to be no locks in this biz, they always like a surprise, with all the huge odds this year look for at least one major swtcharoo, the academy wont be that predictable to have all the heavy chalk win ... THE DEPARTED might be only bet on some sites that returns better than even money that makes any sense to me right now ... Coulda had Mirren at even money back when, now shes like -1400

Probably my last play as the line is pretty good:

Picture of the year: The Departed at +122 (2 UNITS)

I give him 55% of winning so to have it underdog is a good to go!

Rest is pretty hard as odds are way too high on favorites...

1837:

Wanna run one theory by you. Last year, they said that the Academy just wouldn't let a gay film dominate all the Awards. So Brokeback missed out on Best Picture, etc.

Might sound dumb, but what about any anti-black bias? Whitaker, Murphy, and Hudson to sweep the major awards? Would sort of surprise me if that happened. Any angle here? Wasn't too long ago that a lot of fuss was made over mixed-race Halle Berry winning an award.

Chuck,

I have less and less confidence in the pick i have made on E. murphy as The Academy seems to dislike him. You can finds odds at around +130 for the prop: Will E. Murphy wins the best actor supp role: NO That said... i will let it ride my bet on the props previously made... Let's "gamble" a bit... ;)

To my big surprise i have found 2 last bet i really like! You can find them at The Greek:

Odds to win the Best Live action short film award:
any other +105 (3 units!) West Bank Story should win it and it isnt listed by The Greek

Odds to win the best Animated Short Film award
The Little Matchgirl -140 (2 units)

That's all folks have a nice night! :SIB

Thanks for the info 18, here and gen. dis. UT, if you have an acct. that allows ML parlays, you might consider lowering juice that way. Last year, I did well with the high juice "locks" in a ML parlay. 5dimes.

Hey I've tried placing a parlay on 5dimes but I get a message saying selections are invalid within same parlay, after clicking continue.

I wanted to bet Whitaker-600/ Mirren-1700/ Scorsese-630 and maybe Babel +340

Where do you guys place parlays?

I'm also starting to like Babel for best picture +340 as I don't think they will give Departed more than best director, close one this year though.

Late play:

as i told UT, i consider Hudson as a lock so..

Best performance by actress sup role: Hudson -354 (1 unit) Pinnacle

Odds are good as it is -500 everywhere i look...

Picture of the year: Little Miss Sunshine +306 (1 unit) Pinnacle

I already put $$ on Departed but the latest rumours are that Little Miss Sunshine will win the Best movie award and the odds on it is falling pretty fast so i am just joining the bandwagon just in case the rumours is true... :)

Sorry Ivlarc but i cant help you as my out dont take parlay... :( I wish i could parlay some but i cant...

gL Patrick - I took Arkin at +217 to win Supporting Actor a month back... may take LMS for best film, as I think Scorcese will get Best Director but not both... just off to check updated lines...

i have seen most of the nominated pictures & fwiw this is who i like....

best actor...whitaker
best actress....mirren
best supporting actor...murphy
best supporting actress...hudson
best director...scorsese
best film....little miss sunshine....however very rarely will the best director & best film be different so since i think the academy wants to give scorsese his long overdue props, i think the departed may win best picture.

i also think al gore is a shoo-in to win in his category...

ive been looking at that link, just took Hudson, but now considering (Mexico) Pan's Labrynth at -425, what do you think about that to win?

i have no idea what art direction is....

i also don't know what the odds are for different categories...but i think helen mirren is a lock for best actress...but there is usually at least 1 surprise each year at the oscars.
