im watching streams right now, i can elaborate and provide links later if anyone is interested:

i watched sikahema work with a fringe pro and accompluished amateur in philly, a cop named jamie campbell. i was very impressed with his upper body movement, and ability to slip. his counters were timely, BUT my big concern was his short reach and his slow in/out movement. they onyl showerd a brief clip, vai said he didnt want to give away secrets. he threw his counters from the same distance as he slipped, which is too far from a big man's jab.

i watched vai worked the pads with larry holmes' team, same thing: great slipping, quick counters, nice body work, but very poor reach, and no in/out movement. i saw him move side to side comfortably, but in this fight in and out is going to be very important. he cant stand in the same position and try to counter jose, he has to move forward as he bobs n weaves, and move fiorward into his punches ala tyson/frazier.

i watched 1 rd vs banaduce, same thing: he stood flat-footed right in front of him, did a nice job of slipping and a great job of countering, BUT had very short reach and seemed uncomfrtoable moving in or going backwards.

that's the part that concerns me, like lamon brewster trying to box vlad from the outside: you cant be stationary and try to counter, your reach is too danged short, his jab can keep you at bay. if sika CAN move in and out with some fludiity and throw those same counters on the move, hes ok, if he stands in front of Jose he'll have to be very close to throw those counters. if he plods in hell get hit, and if he cant move out quickly hell get smothered.

thats a very common mistake among beginner boxers, working the pads and the bags from a stationary position, and countering flat-footed and stationary. it works great in the gym but terrible in the ring. sikahema is no beginner and ill give him the benefit of the doubt, but the clips were concerning.

fuk it my bet is pretty big and im sticking to it, ill go down with the ship if i have to, all signs point to a sika win. also of grea tnews is that jose is universally despised and vai has a posse of supporters, so if it goes the full rounds sika is the sentimental favourite and should get the nod.
