Dear Scott,

I respect your passion for your team and your ability to explain your way out of any situation. You could be caught in bed with another woman (naked) and convince your wife that it was not your fault. That being said, I think most, nearly all of us are just plain sick and damm tired of USC. The athletes from our schools move on to the NFL when its time. I think USC's athletes stay is they are afraid of the pay cut in the NFL.
I don't deny USC's 1 National Championship, it was a quality win over an overrated opponent, a staple of USC's sucess. USC did not win the 2003 title because they were not playing in the game, they agreed at the beginning of theseason to let the BCS determine the champion, then they decided to change their minds and split/ the NC. That is not possible, you have to be playing in the game to take home the hardware. What do they have on display at USC a picture of Saban holding up the trophy with a cutout of Petes head over Sabans?
I have played many of your games this year(mostly losses because your sarragin system is like the PAC 10 VASTLY OVERRATED). Or perhaps I did not pick the right sarragin games. I played USC because I believed the HYPE, and thats all it was HYPE. USC was the media darling. A hottie QB, the 619 guy and a bunch of gay looking guy cheerleaders in sweater vests! I lost a few hundred dollard playing USC but it was money well spent. I have never slept so good in my life because I know the reign is over, and it makes me feel good to know that you are going to have to chew on this loss for a long time! You had a great run, congrats, but welcome to the real world of rebuilding a program. I have a little quote for you to comfort you at night......from Melvin Olliver following LSU's 2003 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP "People are going to start respecting LSU or we are going to punch them in the mouth." Remember the piling up wins against inferior Pathetic-10 conference opponents does not put you with the greatest teams of all time!

What a stupid quote. No one is scared of that garbage LSU team. What have they done since :s4:

The write up is not ment to be personal, but I have a lot of pent up anger having to hear how great USC is for the past 3 years. I am not pounding my chest after LSU's profound win over Miami with a back up QB. The story that is not being told is the adversity that LSU had to battle this season to get where they were. They had no bye weeks and played straight thru the season, can someone tell me the last time that happened? Not to mention that Fats Domino and countless other family members were livingwith Jamarcus Russell in a tiny 2 bedroom apt. What would leinart have done under those circumstances? Helicopters flying dead people over practices, uncertainty about the survival of family? And all I hear about is how good USC is, who did they beat this season? Lets see....................................................................
Fresno ST- lost to LA tech wow
Oregon- Fraud Squad, really looked good against OU in bowl game.
ND- very questionable final play, Weiss doesn't have his studs yet.
ARK- they improved as season went on but they lost to Vandy and were a debacle when they went to USC.
UCLA- imposter- they didn't lose to Arizona they were pumeled by a poor Ariz squad.
How did the Pathetic-10 conference do in the bowl games? 3-2 not bad who were the opponents BYU, Rutg, and Northwestern. Until the Pac 10- learns to play defense, or plays BCS conference opponents they will continue to pile up hollow victories. The only inpressive win I can recall off the top of my head was Usc's win at Auburn and perhaps the opener against VA tech the following season. What about there win against Cal last season, Oh I forgot Cal went on to get embarassed by Texas tech in the bowl game. The entire Pac 10 is soft. They pile up hollow wins against the mountain west and other cupcakes and pound their chests when they have 7 wins. Meanwhile the SEC and Big Ten beat the hell out of each other all season then, play a conference championship game against someone they already beat (usually). Whats that you don't know what a conference championship game is? It is a stumbling block that keeps SEC teams out of National Championship games.

That garbage LSU Team, replaced their entire coaching staff, dealt with the largest national disaster in US history and played one of the most spirited seasons in college football history. Most people game the saints a free pass this season because of all that happened, but expectations remained the same for LSU. You must not watch much college football Mr.Rex Hudler didn't you play 2nd base for the reds? Anyway, We went on the road to ASU and won on a last second thriller against (at that time) a very good team. We won in Over Time against the undefeated Alabama Crimson Tide, we lost sloppy to tennessee, who was preseason # 3 and despite their implosion is loaded with talent! we won the SEC West and endured the brutal SEC schedule. And with our backup who has had fewer reps than you beat the hell out of a Miami on and then off the field. I would say it was a pretty good season... all things considered

USC's bowl opponents last 3 seasons. #1 Michigan, if someone were to start a thread naming the most overrated teams over the past 10 years based on preseason rankings, my guess Michigan would be #1. They have more wins than any other team because they started playing games in like 1792. They are consistently a very overrated team. #2- OU, a QB with not 1 but 2 bad knees and the Buffalo Bills of college football, the sooners. They turned the ball over like 8 times and the final score of USC's 1 BCS championship was not indicative of the play. If you give the readers of Mad Jack 8 turnovers we could score on USC's D, just run the QB sneak. And of course they lost this year, they had more talent more speed, higher payed players and the entire media world behind them but this so called greatest team ever really got handeled. Texas turnovers and missed kicks kept USC in it. How about that great lateral attempt by Bush? Don't they teach common sense 101 at USC? Maybe that play should be on Reggie's highlight reel.

Thanks GJN 23. I had a great time in Tuscon 2 years ago, what was the score 47-9. I was out there tailgaiting at 7 or 8 a.m. to get good parking and me and a few other LSU fans were the only ones out there tailgaiting. The Zona fans showed up at about 6:30 P.M. for a 7:30 nationally televised TBS game in your house. I think there were more LSU fans than pussy cat fans in your house that night. And on top of that the Fat Tuesday's on the strip ran out of booze on Friday. The folks in Zona must tailgate at starbucks, I mean seriously how do you run out of booze? You are as serious about college football as you are about celebrating MLK Day. Ouch!

I got bad news for you. USC isn't LSU or any other program in the country. USC isn't going anywhere. USC will compete for NC's every year under Pete Carroll. USC is getting more and more talented each and every year. Things are just going up for the Trojans and the Texas loss was just a speed bump! USC doesn't rebuild, they RELOAD! Carroll himself said he will only recruit 1st round NFL talent and he has set recruiting records the last 3 years to back it up!

:firing: :firing: :firing:

Pete Carroll won a National Championship with Leinart playing his first year at QB. Then the following year, Carroll won a National Championship again with brand new OL, new WR's, and new FB.

This year Carroll might lose only 4 starters from this years offense and ALL 4 replacements are either 4-star or 5-star recruits. USC has 2 5-star QB prospects waiting to take over for Leinart. Both were #1 ranked in the country out of high school. The USC D was SUPER SUPER young this year so they are all back as well. Also USC was decimated with injuries on D this season.

USC couldn't replace Carson Palmer!
USC couldn't replace MIKE WILLIAMS and COLBERT!
USC couldn't replace NORM CHOW!
bla bla bla

As long as Pete Carroll is at USC, USC isn't going anywhere. Carroll has told recruits he is staying at USC at least 4 more years AND he signed the contract extension.

What about the coaching exedous.. Norm Chow, Ole Miss's coach, I am sure there are others I am forgetting about? Your recruiting will be good but 4 and 5 star means nothing, need proof look at West Virginia! I don't think they have a 5 star in the history of their football program. Rich Rodriguez is a ball coach, he gets more out of his horses than any coach. Pete Carroll's speciality is defense, where did USC rank defensively this season? All the regular season wins mean nothing, its what you do in the big game thats remembered. Bush and Lionheart will be remembered for the pitch, the loss to texas and the comment lionheart made following the game! I realize they had injuries. But again the old saying proved to be true, defense wins championships. LSU and USC fans will continue to hate each other because we both think we had the better team. The fact of the matter is that we have the hardware. I am not living in the past it just angers me that USC fails to recognize LSU as the BCS(and that is what everebody agreed to play by) CHAMPS 2003. You should edit your obit on USC to 1 national championship. And the weeks in the AP is not impressive because the entire media nation is sucking usc's d_ck. Fight On, and whats with those gay guy cheerleaders with the sweater vests?

Hey buddy! USC isn't Miami or FSU. USC has EXCELLENT player development. Better than ANY program/coach in the country. NOBODY in the last 4 years had better production from freshman and sophomores than USC. NOBDOY even comes close. That is COACHING! Not talent. You have to coach your players well to play at high level as freshman and sophomores. The #'s are scary how many freshman and sophomores succeed at USC.

Pete Carroll's speciality is defense, where did USC rank defensively this season?

Above average.

All the regular season wins mean nothing, its what you do in the big game thats remembered. Bush and Lionheart will be remembered for the pitch, the loss to texas and the comment lionheart made following the game! I realize they had injuries.

Bush and Leianrt will be remembered as winners. Heisman trophy winners. 2-time National Champions. Leianrt will go down as one of the top 5 QB's to ever play. Nobody matches his success on the college level.

LSU and USC fans will continue to hate each other because we both think we had the better team.

USC fans don't give a crap about LSU fans. It is LSU fans who are envious of USC. Look at your posts. :s4:

The fact of the matter is that we have the hardware.

Yes you do. You have a BCS NC trophy. You unfortunately do not have an AP NC trophy. USC doesn't have the BCS NC trophy for 2003. USC decided to get one of those the following year. :)

I am not living in the past it just angers me that USC fails to recognize LSU as the BCS(and that is what everebody agreed to play by) CHAMPS 2003.

I could see why LSU fans might be angry. :cursin: Not too many thought they were the best team in the country in 2003. The vast majority of the AP and Coaches Poll had USC #1. By a landslide. You obviously don't understand the AP poll only agreed to let the BCS USE their poll. The AP NEVER, i repeat NEVER said they will crown the BCS NC game winner the NC. That is why LSwho fans look silly when they cry about it. AP never agreed to anything. They do their own thing. The coaches poll was FORCED, I repeat, FORCED to vote LSU #1 which they did. If the coaches poll was not forced to vote LSU #1, LSU would have won NOTHING! Sad but true. Be glad your team (LSU) won the BCS NC because the coaches poll was FORCED to vote you #1.

I apologize if this breaks your heart but it is the truth.

Congrats to both USC and LSU for winning the national championship in 2003. I do agree USC has stolen LSU's thunder and LSU seems to be forgotten. But USC stayed on top while LSwho couldn't.

And the weeks in the AP is not impressive because the entire media nation is sucking usc's d_ck.

Jealous jealous jealous. USC puts out a great product every year and USC deserved being ranked #1 AP for all those consecutive weeks. Texas took it away from USC and USC will fight to get back on top.

WVU had a 5 star just last year, just off the top of my head. RB Jason Gwaltney.

Oh yeah, and they played another frosh at RB over him, Steve Slaton, and he in part led them to a BCS win over Georgia...

I have never seen an AP NChampionship trophy handed out. I would love to make a wisecrack here like must be sitting in Scott's kitchen or something. But I do not know for sure if they actually have one or what so I will just ask you guys?

On my final note of this post, Scott u are delusional. Just cause ESPN says they went for a 3peat doesnt make it so. LSU won National championship. USC won a bowl game. Big difference. You can say they won NC in 2002 and sound just as credible. Just say that Scott4SC Poll voted SC as #1 school in 00, 01, and 02 so they are NC those years as well. Keep tooting the SC horn and you sound like a dumbass.

I cant believe I just read this whole thread

quick note: It was OU who was overrated in 2003. neither LSU or USC were. The AP vote, after LSU beating OU and USC beating Mich, was more a rebellion against the BCS NOT a disrespect of LSUs accomplishment, NOR do I believe they honestly thought USC was better than LSU, just that indeed USC deserved to have played LSU rather than OU

Lastly, until 2004 the AP poll was a component of the BCS....put this to rest 2003 Champion LSU

END OF DISCUSSION

You have to be kidding. To make that kind of statement just shows how classless you are. And that my friend is a fact. A classy person doesn't make a statement like that.
