A horrible week to be the Fat Cool One

Some of you may have read before about my upbringing and it really isn't that big of a deal until now.

The family that I now call my own had a tremendous loss this week.

Friday my "Grandfather" passed due to lung Cancer. I flew up to Chicago to attend the funeral only to arrive and have to call 911 due to my "father" falling and hitting his head and he unfortunately passed on Wednesday. I was unable to attend the funeral due to being at the hospital. Now the daughter of the my "father" has blamed my "mother" for his passing and has thrown the family into a complete tailspin. Unreal.................................Some people never know how good they have it and take full advantage of everything. Very unfortunate, and the thing is the only thing left to me was his watch and class ring and she ("sister") asked if she could have those too!!! Not sure how to handle it as his wife is now changing her will in order to put me as executor and have power of attorney in the event she passes as her daughter has made several threats. Just can't believe it.

Anyway, so I am still in Chicago helping my "mother" out and the daughter has already gone home and left her alone. Heartless.

I only have a minute and have to go but I wanted to say that I know alot of people think that some of these type posts are too personal but let me assure you of one thing. The people that have already replied and to those that will in the future are all class acts and I truly do take comfort in their thoughts and messages. I have lots of non cyber friends also and the outpouring of emotion has been immeasurable. But those of you that I talk(write) with on a regular basis by way of madjacks are truly friends also and trust me when I say I appreciate all of them. God Bless to all of you.

Really sorry to hear about your loss and the aftermath of the fallout within that part of your family.

As you well know with "Family" you have good and bad times and for you this has got to be one of the worse with everything going on.

But just remember you will get thru this and I know from reading your thread about your daughter, that you will have the right kind help getting thru it.

so sorry for your loss. unfortunately you can't control how people react in certain situations. hopefully everything will work itself out and the daughter will come to her senses, don't hold your breath, but in the meantime continue to be there for your mother. it's the right thing to do. you're a good son. hang in there...

Wow, when it rains it really pours. I know how it feels, but you have a good attitude and that will carry you though. Not much I can do here on the West Coast but offer my prayers for you and your family. Your in my thoughts!
