No 1st rounders but will make a little unofficial, anti $hit list 2ball combo play @ Sportingbet returns $105 for $30 wager.

Lehman over Browne
Sutton over Noblio
Zinger over Magee
=============================================

If one wanted to take chance on Tiger starting and not finishing you could add Omeara over Tiger to above combo and increase return to $170 for $10 wager. Not a bad risk scenario.
=============================================
Question: If player is receiving appearance money to play in event am I correct in assuming that he has to tee off to collect?

1st round results
72 hole standings
Mediate/Triplett 3 down,Rocco still on course
Lickliter/Omeara 4 up
Toms/Faxon 1 up

Outright Leonard is out of it on 1st day shooting 4 over.Other notables chunking it were Calc at 4 over David "Nike" Duval 3 over.
Comeback of the day to my buddy Spike McRoy who is 7 over after 7 and never being weak of heart fires back with 8 birdies on next nine holes to end up -1 for day.
$hit list combo did not fare well.Zinger lost by 1 to Magee but while other 2 matches pushed they were loss's also according to UK books. While on s-list topic Armour and Brown shoot -7 and -4 respectively. In their past 3 events here neither had made cut and each had a lone 69 as their lowest score??
Tiger"the whiner"Woods shows no effects of alleged sprain and I will be throwing my worse hex on him for remainder on tourney as punishment for hype.
Rumor has it one of Daly's pro amers may have been commrade from Arkansas in disguise..When refusing to sign card where it said "attest" he ran off dropping a joint from his mouth while sceaming "well pardon me".

adding 2nd round
Mediate-120 over Langham @ 5Dimes

Don't expect Langham to hit 94% of fairways again and expect Mediate to do better than his 54%.

1st round update:

The most important piece of information from the 1st round is the differences in scoring across the three courses. Just using the raw scores, then Spyglass had the highest average score of the three (72.0), followed by Pebble Beach (71.7) and the easiest was Poppy Hills (71.3). However, it may be the case that the best players were playing Poppy Hills and the worst ones Spyglass. Using the Sagarin player ratings to measure player quality, it was actually the other way around. Adjusting the player quality, Spyglass played 0.5 shots harder than Pebble Beach and 1.3 shots harder than Poppy Hills in the 1st round. Something that needs to be taken into consideration and is in line with last year's event.

The three matchups are not faring too great. Sutton and Elkington are tied after opening 70s on Spyglass, Magee lies two shots behind Daly after both playing Spyglass, while Triplett is one shot behind Waite, but played Spyglass yesterday while Waite played the easier Pebble Beach. Very close in all three, but would rather be a shot ahead than a shot behind!

The outrights look forgettable. Leonard shot 76 on Pebble Beach and Duval shot 75 on Spyglass Hill. At least Love's 71 at Spyglass keeps him in the tournament. Based on the course differences noted above, there are several 2nd round plays:

Sergio Garcia to beat Mike Weir -125 @ Five Dimes [2 units]
Sergio Garcia to beat Mark Calcavecchia -130 @ Five Dimes [2 units]
David Toms to beat Jesper Parnevik -125 @ Five Dimes [2 units]
David Toms to beat Brad Faxon -120 @ Five Dimes
Paul Azinger to beat Rocco Mediate -115 @ Five Dimes
Vijay Singh to beat Tom Lehman -115 @ Five Dimes

I might change the habit of a lifetine tomorrow with reference to Tiger as there is a certain deja-vu compared to last year. His last 2 rounds will be at Pebble Beach do I need to say any more
Wish I hadn't read he was injured would have saved the money lost on Lehman and Leonard
But biggest matchbet of year Lickliter over O'Meara looks good (I think FS will be licking their wounds on this one)

2nd round update: 3-1-2 and +3.80 units

With the exception of Faxon who inflicted a two-shot defeat to Toms, a good day to take advantage of the course differences and could have been so much better: both Weir and Mediate recorded birdies on their last holes to deny us the win and secure only a push. The three victors were Garcia by three over Calcavecchia, Toms by one over Parnevik and Singh by eleven over Lehman.

The 72-hole plays stand 1-1-1 with Sutton tied with Elkington, Triplett leading Waite by five and Magee trailing Daly by seven. Still time for Big John to explode! The only outright play with any chance remained as such as Love raced to five-under-par after his first eight holes, but couldn't move forward thereafter. He finishes the day in 20th place and with at least an outside chance of a place finish.

2nd round match results 0-2-1
Mediate/Langham push
Toms/Faxon loss by 2
Flesch/Faxon loss by 5

72 hole standings
Mediate/Triplett 3 down
Lickliter/Omears 8 up
Toms/Faxon 1 down

Note After taking a butt beating by Faxon yesterday thought I'd explain reasoning behind opposing. He has had several tourneys to chart here,15 in all dating back in 80,s.
He's played 54 rounds averaging 71.8 a round and prior to yesterday had only 2 rounds (less than 4%) of 67 or better.
Only thing worked out yesterday was whammy I put on Tiger for his injury duping.

As all the outrights have fallen by the wayside and the one matchbet looks very promising I thought I'd have a little dabble to maintain interest
Faxon played Spyglass day1, Pebble yesterday with a good -5 (sorry DTB) and has the easy Poppy course today. He is 20/1 with FS yet 40/1 CoralEurobet which is too big IMHO. He is 33-1 at Sportingbet which is fair

Oh and I forgot to add up until yesterday he was the course record holder at Poppy

The 2nd round confirmed the differences in the difficulty of the courses found in round 1. The raw averages were Pebble Beach - 72.9, Spyglass Hill - 72.8; Pebble Hill - 71.5. Once adjustments using the Sagarin ratings were used to compensate for the different qualities of player across the courses yesterday, then Pebble Beach played 0.1 shots harder than Spyglass Hill and 1.5 shots harder than Poppy Hills. On the basis on this cross-course comparison, here are the 3rd round plays:

Mike Weir to beat Sergio Garcia -105 [2 units]
Franklin Langham to beat Rocco Mediate -110
Tim Herron to beat Jonathan Kaye -125 [3 units]
David Berganio to beat Willie Wood -120 [2 units]
John Daly to beat Barry Cheesman -135
Dan Forsman to beat Casey Martin -125 [2 units]
Brad Faxon to beat David Toms -110
Paul Azinger to beat Rocco Mediate -115 [3 units]
Paul Azinger to beat David Toms -105
Davis Love to beat Phil Mickelson -105 [2 units]
Davis Love to beat Vijay Singh -105 [2 units]

All lines are at Five Dimes who must be applauded for the amount of matchups they produce each week for PGA Tour event

Simonpjc, the under 69.5 looks very good to me. Average scores on Poppy Hills the past two days have been 71.3 and 71.5 and Love is much better than average! He looked very good on the front nine at Pebble Beach yesterday and I'm pretty sure he'll keep the momentum going today.

BTW where did you get the scoring prop on Love? Sportfanatik only has ones for Woods and Garcia.
