Very sorry to hear about your loss Maverick. It's a difficult time of year to lose someone, especially someone as close to you as your mother. At least she did not suffer; you can take some comfort in that.

My grandfather is into his final days/weeks now. He's 94, and has gotten to the point where he is unable to leave his apartment anymore. Just two years ago he was climbing 20 flights of stairs per day; now, he has to stop and catch his breath when going from the family room to the kitchen. He sleeps about 16 hours a day. He's told me and my mother that "at this age life is not fun anymore", and that he is just waiting for the day when he goes.

This will be our last Christmas with him and we are all very emotional about it. It's very sad to see someone who was so active and so bright wither away and just want to die. So your mother may have been lucky that she went the way she did, and you may have been lucky that you did not have to witness it.

Keep your chin up & stay strong.

As a couple of others have already mentioned recent losses, I also know what you must be going through as I am in the process of sending off my own mother who died Tuesday morning....

Tough thing to go through and a lousy time of the year for something like this to happen....I've had aunts and uncles pass on but this one hits a lot closer to home....

Haven't had much time to post here....been helping dad get arrangements made and cleaning up his house....this is something that is going to take time, as all losses do....

Nice to know we all have some forum brothers out there for a little support....

Take care, Mark.....

"Sorry to share something so sad but if you have any words I sure need them now.
I guess time is the only healer that I have.

Thanks for listening.........."

Mav you did the right thing by telling us of your loss and grief. Your mothers body was tired and ready but sounds like her spirit was still strong as she beat the cancer. You can find peace in that fact that she was a strong person.

This is a tough time to lose a loved one, my Mother died the night before Mother's Day in 1989 and it tore me up when I got the news. She had Alzheimers and that disease takes them long before they die as they don't know you for years. The reason I mention this is to confirm your feelings about her not knowing you it is a tough path to walk down, as I have.

Time will help you heal that along with the consoling words from family, friends, and others.

May God bless you, and ease the burden and pain.
