Q. Can you just run through exactly where you were when you got the word that you were in? Where you were and what you had to do to get here?
J.B. HOLMES: Yes, I was sitting in my house. I was talking to my buddy. He was going to come over today and hang out. My agent called me and said hey, you are in. Start working on getting me a flight. I hadn't unpacked yet from back from LA. I went and repacked and got the flight from -- the flight was supposed to be at 4:40. I know I wasn't going to get here in time to practice without any lights. Went back and went to the airport, got to the airport and found out that my flight was delayed and that it was an hour. That was going to make me miss my connection. So then I had to wait and sit in the airport for basically three or four hours. Supposed to leave at 7:00. Ended up leaving at 7:40. Got to Dallas at 9:10, 9:20. Got on a plane in Dallas around 10:00. Flew in. I think I landed here at 11:40, 11:45. I got in the bed at one o'clock.

Q. What airport were you leaving from and when did you get the call from your agent?
J.B. HOLMES: I got the call from my agent at 11:00. I left from the Orlando airport, went to Dallas and then here.

Q. What time did you get up?
J.B. HOLMES: 5:30.

Q. And you had never seen this golf course before?
J.B. HOLMES: Never seen it.

Q. Played the last two holes --
J.B. HOLMES: I played the last holes. Hopefully I don't have to play them this week. Yeah, I went ahead and played 'em just to see them.

Derrick that Watney-Westwood line is fishy as hell. Think you may be taking a sucker bet there... I know its a different animal with golf but #30 player in the world favored over the #1 player in the world says vegas is begging for Westwood money. Watney is just playing good golf right now and sounded a lot more confident after his match yesterday.

Large play on Watney for me. GL though one of us will win at least

Im not touching that one. I am going with Ogilvy again. The line is a tad high, but I wasn't that impressed with Bjorn. I can see a let down here as well. Ogilvy won't give away holes like Tiger did.
Ogilvy -198 to advance.
i dont like that i have to go 2 - 0 for a positive day, but it is what it is, when you take big favorites.

Round 2 play (2pts):

Graeme McDowell to beat Ross Fisher -127 @ Pinnacle [available generally]
GMac may have a poor record in this event, but there is no better indication of his qualities as a matchplayer under pressure than Monty's decision to give him the anchor position in the Sunday singles when the Ryder Cup was in the balance. He responded with a world-class performance that day and his form since winning the U.S. Open (and the Celtic Manor Wales Open two weeks previously) has befitted such a Major Champion. His last seven starts, for example, have yielded finishes of 3rd, 5th, 13th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 3rd. He is a worthy #4 in the World Rankings and he showed that yesterday in his easy 4&3 win over Heath Slocum. Fisher can be a dangerous opponent, but he collapsed when the pressure was on in his Ryder Cup singles match again Jeff Overton and his 10th place finish in Dubai last time out was his first top-10 finish in over six months.

[unofficial rd2 system plays: Kuchar tb Van Pelt -136; Schwartzel tb Manassero -138; Mahan tb Karlsson -119; Mickelson tb Fowler -140]

Adding:

2* Phil -145 over Rickie

fowler played pretty well yesterday I think he shot even par with that eagle on 15 which was somewhat of a lucky drive with a good kick. Think the issue here is gonna be matching up vs. Lefty much more intimidating and nerve racking than some little Swede. Phil probably got real excited to see Tiger go down and was playing really well yesterday. I think 3 birdies and 0 bogies thru 14. Really like this play.

4* Watney -115 over Westwood

Watney 3 top 10s in 3 tourneys this year. Westwood a 64th, missed cut and 15th on the Euro. Not off to a blazing hot start. never been a fan of Lee seems to be a choke artist in big PGA tourneys. Watney solid round yesterday at even par when he beat Kim. Westwood squeaked by the other Swede with a +2 score somehow. Another #1 seed goin down today.

well 2-2 for -20 and 0-1 on the parlay for -120 on the day. hoping for a better day today:

Bubba -130 ov Wilson w
McDowell -145 ov Fischer w
yang +130 ov Cink w- it seems too easy to take Cink
Els ev ov Holmes L -- playing on adrenalin yesterday, fatigue sets in today for holmes. Even though Els played like crap yesterday more a play against Holmes

parlay Moore/Donald/McDowell 1 to win 4 W

day two recap
+230 on straight plays and +400 on parlay +630 on day

Watney -110 over Westwood

Pinnacle actually has Westwood the fave at -114...not sure I'm too thrilled about that.

That late move to 114 happened this morning, and its expected. Someone pointed out earlier that the line was Watney favored by opening numbers, now the line has gone almost 25 pts the other way. No reason to get into it, but why set the line that way when you know the action is gonna be lopsided? Still, this is golf betting, not the NBA playoffs.

Westwood shits the bed this round IMO, and my numbers actually have Watney as a small favorite due to consistency.

Not to thrilled about some matchups because several feature two 'play on' guys going h2h, while there are a couple of 'fade both of these hacks' matchups as well.

Two plays for me today.

JB Holmes over Els

Mahan over Karlsson

Els/Overton was a pick the dog with the least fleas matchup. In the end, Els won and had a +round with a single birdie. Overton shit the bed, missed some easy puts and basically gave Els the W. Bust, baby!!!

JB comes in at the last second, plays a course hes unfamiliar with and was quite impressive with several approach shots.

Give him another 24 hours , and a second look at these 18 holes and he could improve. It also doesnt hurt that hes got mad distance. Els cannot just simply sit back, play it safe, and hope that par will make him advance.

To top it off, Els is also sporting some minor neck injury. This is most likely a non factor, but certainly cannot be completely ignored.

Line def opened at Watney -120. Reminded me of other sports where an unranked home dog is favored over a ranked team. of course no "real" home field advantage here besides being in the US which doesn't count for much. But the line seemed to be Vegas begging people to take the #1 player in the world being a small dog. And by the line movement it would appear they got the Westwood $ they were looking for now it's pretty even line @ Wat -116 / West -114 on my site.

GL to everyone today. Like the Ben Crane pick BTW

Watney holds on for the sweep.
