Swans luckily didn't take a NOSE dive!

Swans luckily didn't take a NOSE dive!

PAWAQATSI -

I am still adrenalized after the Swans narrow victory. I played Texas Hold'em poker online to keep myself from spontaneously combusting and waking up the entire house at 4:40 a.m. C.S.T.

A nap will definitely be in order today, as well as coloring Easter eggs with the kids. The hiding of the eggs will commence prior to the kickoff of the Power's match.

I am truly a novice at picking winners in A.F.L. I do review A.F.L. information offerred at 2 other sources and ultimately yield to the history & knowledge of the MadJack crew.

On paper Port. looks like a solid pick. Initially I was ready to lay down another large money line wager and will probably tighten that be up quite a bit.

As beast2 stated previously the Bulldogs vs. Demons match is a "PASSadena".

Fremantle has made 5 changes to their side and I truly don't know the effect of this early season shuffling. I do know that the Dockers do possess a significant home turf advantage at the Subiaco.

I see that beast2 and bombercoops are keen on the Crows, who have a solid record at Perth.

I look at line movement as a tool to look closer before I make a wager. The Dockers vs. Crows money line pops up a "red flag". On 4/7 @ Pinnacle the Dockers were -24.5 (-320) and on 4/8 the line held and the money line slid to -291. I would once again ask about personnel and weather.

I hope you guys had a good time watching game after game of good footy yesterday! Makes sweating out those bets that much more fun. Glad to see my dons register their first win of the season :D Can sleep that bit easier tonight! It's good to see a few new names in the afl forum also. Cranman and ageecee, I hope we can help you pick some winners and make some $$ throughout the season. Good to have you guys on board. Pawa, did you watch your roos live yesterday?

WOW!

What a stressful day! (Even moreso for you I guess PAWA!).

Sydney were pretty poor. Geelong bottled the game right up and Sydney really never looked like they could score. They did miss some easy shots in the last 1/4, and should have won by a little bit more, but only due to a complete Geelong meltdown!

PAWA...Keen to know if you were at the game too....How the hell did Wells get the kick????????!!!!!
Simpson was right next to the ball when it was 'kicked' out, and Harris was the next to arrive!! ....Not that I'm complaining! It was a superb kick that saved my butt!

Daniel Harris played as good a last 10 minutes of football as you will ever see! Big reason they won.

LOVE that Bell/McLeod head-to-hed, PAWA. Bell just keeps getting the ball, and McLeod isn't fit. WOuld be a good bet if he was 100%...The fact that he isn't makes it all the better.

Doggies can be had for 2.30 @ SportsTAB ;)

No tv coverage  (Might be a good thing!)

EDIT: Apparently Harris passed the ball to Wells. Didn't see that bit on the TV.

No I didn't get to the Roos game. I ....umm....went shopping with the missus(!) with my earphones in and the reception fading in and out through the centre. Ended up cursing my teams surrendered lead while my girl kept saying "it's only a game dear" (if only they could understand!) Listened to the final minutes while pacing up and down in the carpark. People staring at me like a nutcase as I jumped around in celebration of Wells' winning goal!! :D Must have looked funny to an outsider.

That Harris is going to be a star if Laidley would give him some more game time. One tough little bugger he is. Carlton people still whinging about whether it was 'out on the full'. :D

Cranman... if you came back for some Port action I'm sure you'll be happy with the less stressful victory. You've had a good weekend.

I must now go and sit in the corner and write out 100 times "I will not throw good money at a bad team ever again" (as in the Western Bulldogs who just plain SUCK!!):moon:

PAWAQATSI & all the A.F.L. crew

PAWAQATSI & all the A.F.L. crew

Thanks for everyones guidance and conversations!

PAWA - I did shorten up on the Port. money line to capture 1 unit. A long time ago I touched the flame of greed when I was already up $'s, and after the rollercoaster ride with the Roos & Swans, I decided to back off.

I am already getting "fired up" at the prospect of taking my virgin journey on the EXPRESS!!! The percentages over the years is most impressive young PAWAQATSIwalker (that would be the Darth Vader on the good side of the force making that statement HA!).

Since returning to my rural, farming community in Iowa our family has felt the effect of not making the $'s we did in Denver, Colorado for 21 years. I will become a proclaimed hobo and hop on the EXPRESS (I will be hiding out in the food car).

Family, friends, etc. threaten to have me commited when they learn that I bet on A.F.L. games. I enjoy the comradery and the late night excitement watching the scoring during the 4 quarter matches.

Wishing everyone a blessed Easter and a good upcoming week!

Now, now, PAWA.

You forgot rule no. 3 from last week...."Always take the points in a doggies game." ;)

Glad to have a 'convert' on board, Cranman.

I'm usually watching the games, so feel free to jump on MSN Messenger for a chat if you're up 'watching' the scores tick over late at night.

mrchristo@hotmail.com

Of course that goes for anyone else too. (er....on this board...not any old moron looking at it! :D :D :D )

1-0 for the week. +4.2 units.

5-3 (+5.4)

Good call on Adelaide, guys.

Adelaide Australia
Round 3 Result: 3-1

Year to Date: 7-3 (70%)

A goal away from a perfect round with the two Sunday plays getting up.

Port -26.5 WIN
Port were awesome and Hawthorn were bad (Schwab must regretting his premiership comments now). There is nothing much more can be said about an 81 point win. The loss of Primus will sour the win but they have managed to cover his absence in the past.

Adelaide +24.5 WIN
Always thought Adelaide could keep this close but probably should have won outright if we had put our first half dominance on the scoreboard. Adelaide 2.7 in the second quarter (including 4 posters which had me screaming at the TV) was it's downfall and in the second half it looked like we were just holding on which we failed to do.

Melbourne - Bulldogs
Melbourne always looked the goods here without ever doing enough to seal the game, partly due to their shocking kicking.

Interesting weekend of footy and still a game to come. 2-0 thus far with the saints game to come. Did the dogs choke it off again christo? Obviously haven't seen any footage over here. If they learned to win close games they would have won up to a dozen more games since the beginning of last season. Maybe you could head down to footscray and have a pep talk with the boys this week.
Another thing i was thinking about is why none of us on the board have discussed the coleman medal as a futures bet at the beginning of the season. Loaded up on Lloyd 2 years ago and have forgotten in the past 2 seasons to follow suit. An injury free season (touch wood) makes this bet as solid as any as a way to earn some quick $$.

Well....Intersting you say, bomber.

I actually had a bit of a dabble on the Coleman Medal last week, but it totally slipped my mind!

Took Tredrea e/w @ 9.00.

Justv think Essendon might struggle this year. Lloyd just may not kick enough to win it this year, and Tredrea will surely finish in the top 3.

Doggies didn't really choke...they were pretty well outplayed all game. They did hit the front midway through the 3rd, but never really looked like it to be honest.

Was thinking yesterday that Tredrea will kick plenty this season myself but have never been one to wait that long for a return. It does look like a good bet Christo at those odds.

I've taken a beating this weekend and like a punch drunk boxer that doesn't know when to stay down......I'm coming back for more!!

St.Kilda have been dishing it out to all comers lately and I expect that they can cover 3 measley goals to the Tigers. The difference in their respective offensive / defensive capabilities in recent times has them poles apart. Surely the Tigers don't 'stand up' today?!! St. Kilda -18.5 2 x u

Generous odds on Tredrea so can understand you having some $$ on it. However, should Lloyd remain injury free and away from the tribunal, I personally find it hard to bet against him. Makes the most of his opportunities. But considering you are the only one here with the stones to make a bet christo, I wish you all the best with it mate! Now, up the sainters!
