she had actually sobered up for a little while..been rooting for her for many years to overcome this self-medication that so many great souls fall victim too.

so much talent never shared the way it could have been

RIP..

can only hope her encarnated soul will get it right this next time

Winehouse now joins an undesirable club of music icons who have all died at age 27.

Famed musicians including Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain ? who all dabbled in illegal substances ? have also died at age 27. In popular culture, the trend has been referred to as "The Curse of 27."

There are tragedies and there are idiots. She fit the later.

latter

come on people, she was still just a person, regardless of what you thought of her...

and no reason to compare tragedies, both saddening

It is sad she died, yes. It is sad when anyone dies.

I don't think she is more important than the last soldier killed in Iraq. I don't think she is more deserving of a thread than the last soldier killed in Afghanistan.

IF, and I do mean IF, she died from an OD; I consider her an idiot for having life by the balls and choosing to spend it self-medicating. She cheated many of her fans by slurring her way through concerts, was continually assaulting people, and was disrespectful to damn near anyone she was involved with.

For gosh sake, she was Lindsay Lohan with a British accent.

Just my opinion, everyone is entitled to think and believe what they want. Everyone has addictions and demons, it is how you choose to deal with them that defines a person.

Hard to sympathize with her and not to be mean, but when I look at those who do, I always ask the question: Without the talent how much would the average person have compassion for their neighbor if they had the same demons and addiction?
