Just asking; do you REALLY believe this or is it wishful thinking based on getting huge odds? I don't follow tennis, but since Jimboski started posting at the start of the Open, I made some wagers, and noticed the chalk has a tendency to come out on top. Seems upsets are harder to come by with tennis than with other sporting events. As I said; just asking, not intending to criticize you opinion.

Frank,
I have been following the men's tour for the last 2 years, often tailing Anders' picks. If you've noticed most of his picks are dogs. For 2 years, he has consistently -- except for a few weeks this summer -- banked significant winners. Go look back at his posts. The men's tour is such that anybody can beat anybody else, and that is why the odds can be so attractive. In this US open alone there have been at least 5-6 +400 or better wagers that have hit, plus countless +200s or better. Take a look at the odds against Youzhny the first 5 rounds. It is less true at the top, but even still, there are good odds to be had. Now, I have Roddick at 45-1 to win it all, so I will be pulling hard for him... but you're crazy if you don't think I will be hedging via live betting every time/if Fed drops to -200 or lower. I think that the true value on the men's tour at this point in time is in the dogs, and the occasional slight favorite. I don't buy Jimboski's rationale for his criticisms of Anders picking mostly dogs. IMO, you will get killed playing chalk with the boys. I think odds are probably correct for this match - but I think Roddick gets at least a set, if not more. Shock the world Andy. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. Poop does happen, as I do bet on boxing and have seen some amazing upsets. For your sake good luck. At 45-1, I would be psyched too!

I don't want to rain on your parade, but there is one huge reason why not. Federer is quite simply the greatest player ever to pick up a racket by a country mile.

played it as well soul

roddick +540 x 2

i think the better play is federer NOT to win 3-0

played it -138 x 7

pretty big play. the thing about roger is he probably is the best to ever play. but the thing that's always held roddick back is that he is a head case. as for skill he's pretty far behind federer, but he's not outclassed by a mile. maybe a half mile. the biggest influence of connors on roddick isn't his playing ability, its his calming effect on roddicks mental stability. in the past, pre-connors, i fully believe roddick would have folded yesterday after dropping the first set. but connors seems to have made roddick tougher. i don't think its asking too much for him to take a set. it'll probably have to be a tiebreaker, but that's where i think the mental toughness comes in. yes, federer is better, but andy should be tough enough to grab a set, and then maybe an upset if the crowd really really backs him and fed has a bad day. if the match was at night, i would think roddick would have a better chance with a rowdy flushing night crowd, but lets hope for the best.

Agree......except he is still Nadal's bitch until he can prove otherwise (on surface other than grass).

Hey, tt... Roddick just won the second set and is playing great while Federer is off his game. Tellya, I AM rooting for Roddick.

Did I bet on this final - NO.

Would I take Roddick right now... . ah, No Thanks. I gotta believe there's room for one more dog in the ole Doggie Pond.

But, I'd still LUV to see him win it. Just like everybody else, getting a little tired of watching the Fed. Man smokin the oponent every time.
