Strategy varies depending on the rules of the BJ game you are playing. 8 deck, 6 deck, 4 deck, 2 deck, single deck, if dealer hits or doesn't hit soft 17, what they allow you to double down on, what they allow you to split, can you double after split or not, and other stupid rules they have added over the years.

Buy a cheat card at the store of the casino you are visiting. Seriously.

Just an example.

I prefer to play blackjack in my old polyester leisure suits. I may not always win, but I do know that I look bitchin' at the table.:0074

I'm a pretty active blackjack player. I was just curious to see other peoples hit/split/double/betting strategies.

I know a lot of people just don't like hitting soft 18 what so ever. I've even witnessed people stay on soft 17 vs 7 lol

I don't have a problem with people staying on 16 as long as they're consistent. Same goes for 12 vs 2/3

I rarely hit a soft 18... only in a double down situation. There are only 3 cards that can improve your hand and 5 that can put you in a bust situation. 18 is a solid hand.

I always hit 16 vs 7 thru A. There are 5 cards that can improve your hand.

I love to split 3s but rarely vs a 10. Frequently get a double option on one of em.

Wagering strategy: Almost always press up to 50% after a winning hand. A five hand winning streak can net some serious jack. Drop back to my minimum after a loss.

Question: Do you ever split 5s?

I never split 5s or 10s

I do always hit soft 18 versus a 10, and I will say that it's helped me more than its hurt me lol. Just frustrating when you dont make a hand and dealer would've busted. I try to play by the book always. Just sucks when you have a player at the table doing stupid selfish shit.

I hate playing with people who have no clue what they are doing, I play at the 25 minimum table for that reason. :0074. They always seem to take the dealer bust card and the dealer makes a hand to beat you, lol...ill start hitting soft 18 against a ten or 9 going forward

Double with two 5s and stay with two tens :0074 I saw a guy double down with a blackjack one night, he was drunk and won, not me :mj07:

Ive only been at the table 1 time when a guy split 10s. He was in 5th base betting $50 while everyone else at the table had at least $100 up to about $400 with bust hands. The dealer had 5 showing. Of course the jackass made 20/20 and the dealer drew to 18. Was so pissed off.

I've seen people double on 9 versus 10. I've seen a guy hit 14 vs 5. I go to the higher limits for the same reasons, but I've still seen the same shit, just not as often.

I actually never hit soft 18 versus 9, but the book says to hit it.

Just always keep in mind, even if you're a so called expert, the cards can run bad and you can get crushed. Went to a $50 table a few weeks ago knowing I had $500 and a half-hour to kill before a meeting, I mean every hand seems rigged and lost like 13/16 hands or whatever and was crushed in 15 minutes.

My best theory is watch for a HOT table where people are winning and jump on this table. Don't start your own table as it's empty for a reason and you won't change the cards. Also, don't be afraid to get up and run! If the table feels cold, it doesn't mean it will get HOT.

Unfortunately I've experienced this far too many times. Have once lost 12 straight hands.
