Scroll down to you see Inner-Klean diet. I'm not going to BS you, it's only a 6 day diet but it's tough. But if you can get through the 3rd day it can be done and it is a miracle worker. It basically flushes the cells. If you stick with it and do it right, you won't believe how good you will feel when it's over. It will give you a jump start for whatever you want to do. The first time I did it I lost about 7 or 8 pounds and I really didn't need to lose hardly any weight.

I have no advice because what you already received was excellent. Good luck bro! The book, 'Rays of the Dawn' is excellent also if you want a little something for the mind.

I'm about the same age (45) and weight train 5 days a week. Yeah it's tough to find the energy to workout some days with work, balancing family life etc, but the reward is so worth it. I also find an amazing amount of joy (for lack of a better word) in volunteering my time to coach my sons hockey and baseball teams. It's a lot of work, 4-5 days a weeks, but it creates great memories for my son, myself, and the kids in my community. The kids are so amazing, they're funny, smart, polite and eager to learn. It's very rewarding for me.
My suggestion to you my friend is to volunteer in your community, hit the gym and eat healthy. If coaching sports is not your thing, then volunteer at a shelter (pets or human), food bank, etc. You'll feel good about yourself and you never know, you may meet some great people......
Take care Bud!:toast:

I'm 44 years old and woke up one day and thought my life just isn't what I thought it would be at this point. Good life up to age 30 then went downhill. I have no family left except my mom and friends are nothing more than memories now since they all got married and have different lives now. Been gambling most my life for entertainment and has backfired badly pretty much ruining me financially. Getting bald and the typical man gut and pretty much just feeling old. Been told friend making days are over at this age and I believe that. Just work acquaintances at the most. Went on a dating site and have been getting dogged out by fat girls with multiple kids and not very good looking. Thankfully I landed a good job two months ago which helped but isn't a saving grace for my whole life. Quit gambling til college football and trying to workout but its hard to maintain regularly. Im 6'3" 275 lbs. andd can stand to drop a few but not morbidly obese. I spent my weekend watching season one and two of the Jersey Shore and believe it or not it got me motivated to try and recapture my youth. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

No one here will understand you. Must I remind you that everyone here on the internet are millionaires that own multiple successful businesses and also make alot of money gambling as a side hobby (whether it be sports betting, poker, etc.). Everyone is also good looking, in great shape and married to a supermodel. Sorry, bro.

I've also eaten well and exercised most of my life and I am nearly a decade passed your 44. I found myself in the same situation and added back trouble about 5 years ago. Through a casual conversation with an old buddy of mine from high school, he shared that he had run into the same issues a few years before he and I were speaking......He turned me onto Crossfit that day and I have never been the same. While I know exactly "how to" exercise and eat, we all get a bit lazy as we meander deeper into life. The great thing about Crossfit is that as long as you can get your ass to the box (gym), you are all set. With the structured classes, you have no option but to do the workout and the WOD. Not only that, there are plenty of chicks there doing it as well. Those benefits are twofold, not only are they there to observe and appreciate during your workout, but secondly you know for damn sure that you're not going to let any girl beat you! It's also a very cool "family" type setting. Everyone is so very helpful and it truly makes you want to go to each and every workout. You are pushed about 16 times harder than you would ever push yourself. Plus you get all of that in less than an hour. When I joined I was skeptical and told myself I would give it 90 days doing 3 workouts a week. After that, I would re-evaluate myself and decide if it were truly something worth continuing.........Well, I didn't have to wait for the 90 days to make my decision. In 30 days I was so incredibly pleased with the results that there was nothing to think about. My pants were literally falling off of me. Every time that I saw anybody that I hadn't seen in a couple of months they would just shake their heads in surprise by the transformation. It's not about being "BIG", it's all about being fit.

Just thought I would share. Good luck in whatever route you choose, as long as you choose one.

Thanks Keyser. I saw that on tv before. There was a show about a group of guys that turned a garage into a gym and do these crazy lifts and make a competition out of it. I wrote down some of their exercises to mimic at home.
