Went back in September. Stayed at a VRBO in the International Colony Club. We got in touch with the guy who owns it directly it was amazing. The view, the proximity to the beach. I rented a truck thru Turo and went to Slaughterhouse Beach (secluded spot with turtles and big waves). It was during Covid and I'm a non-vaxxer so we couldn't go to any restaurants. We went to the Ka'anapali Beach Club resort a couple days to hang by the pool and get hammered. Black Rock Beach had some cliff divers and was decent. Did a snorkel tour thru Snorkel Bobs and it was AH-MAZING. All the Mai Tais you could drink and some great coral reef snorkel spots. Did the Luau thing too but my wife told me I had a lot of fun (I don't remember it---too many Mai Tais). Drove up to the top of some massive mountain that was above the clouds and took a hike, the road up that mountain was a little hairy but the views were spectacular.

There was a shit plant right up the street from where I stayed, I put in an application for work but haven't heard back from them yet. I plan to make this a once in every couple years trips now as it is absolutely paradise. The non-stop flights from Vegas for 150 each way didn't hurt my decision making.

Enjoy

Mai Tai story was funny, thanks for the info

Somewhere in Corn Country
Hotels: Ritz Kapalua is awesome...Montage is great as well
Play golf at Kapalua...gorgeous
Lahaina has a cool vibe. There are lots of great places to eat there.
Renting a car is a must, and I suggest doing that sooner than later.
Snorkel at Molokini (sp)...like a crescent shaped island. Also tons of free snorkeling places by black rock cliff in Lahaina/Kaanapoli area area.
Restaurants: Mama's Fish House, Lahaina Grill, Four Seasons Lobby Lounge, long list

Best sunsets in the world. I love to watch sports so early in the day and don't be surprised when things close early.

Booked the car already; still deciding on whether to fly from our home airport or out of O?hare. Price difference right now has me leaning to just driving the 20 minutes to the local one vs the 3 hour ride to O?Hare.
Thanks for the recommendations on places to go and where to eat. :toast:

If time is on your side, I would consider staying in LA, SF, or somewhere like that on your return flight. We did this and it saved me. We left at noon Hawaii time and got to LA 9 PM after the time change. We got a good night's sleep and left at 9 AM next AM....the trip back is an ass whoopin otherwise...
