Had it both hands but the Surgery on my right hand, a.k.a. "Old Reliable":jerkit:, was definitely worth having. Still getting Cortisone shots in my left hand but plan on having Surgery later this year.

How much relief do you experience from the cortisone? I get a cortisone shot in my left knee (bone on bone) every other month and the relief is almost immediate. Doesn't last very long though. Never had one in my hands and the carpal tunnel is "moderate to severe". Had surgery on my left hand. Eliminated the intense pain, but the numbness and tingling increased. How can you have surgery and the condition get worse? Doctors are puzzled. Have had two EMG's an MRI plus XRAYS on my neck. Surgeons still can't determine the cause. Next week, seeing the surgeon who did the surgery. Seen four surgeons so far. They need to have a pow-wow. This condition can become debilatating. Wouldn't wish this on anyone. Thanks for your reply.

Going in Monday for surgery. Moderate/severe nerve damage. Pretty simple 10 minute surgery should have full use of my hand that sfternoon.

nice. if you survive the surgery and are happy with them, maybe i'll ask for a new referral. let me know on tuesday! :) i'm losing feeling in my fingers, so i really shouldn't put this off much longer.

i got my ACL replaced at bone and joint many years ago there on washington ave. dr schneider, or something like that. anyway, he was really good. then i went to orthony in malta to reattach my achilles in 2017. never quite healed right (no pun intended). but i was a little lackadaisical with my PT, so possibly my fault.

good luck on monday!

Smitty, had to be there at 10:15 for prep work etc. They wheeled me into the OR at 12:00 and I was back in my car at 12:55.
The surgery took less than 10 minutes and everyone was really nice. No pain at all yesterday, I woke up this morning about 6 and it was sore so I took some Aleve and within an hour the soreness was gone. They did give me Tramadol but I don't think I'll need it at this point. The tingling in my fingers is gone, I can flex my fingers and make a fist like normal with no pain.

He did emphasize keeping it dry but other than that no real restrictions other than over doing it.
