Pinnacle has been blocking some IP's, alleging use of robotic tools. There have been a number of cases reported elsewhere. While you probably aren't using any of these tools, you may have been falsely labelled as such as that's typically what's been reported.

I guess you were right Piacsso!! This is the email I got from them.

Dear Sir,

Our IT Department informed us that the IP address you use has been the originating source of accounts using robotic tools.

This has caused performance problems for Pinnacle Sports. We have therefore denied access to this IP.

Our IT staff will activate your IP address when you advise this type of activity has ceased and will not occur in the future.

Robotic tools in this context are software programs called spiders or web scrapers. They're used to automate the retrieval of odds from books without a user having to go through the manual browser process. From what I've read, Pinnacle has been monitoring bandwidth usage on their guest lines as a means for detection. I'm sure they use other measures as well. Unfortunately, their mechanisms appear to be resulting in a lot of false positives as a number of innocent users are reporting their accounts being blocked.

Email #2:

Dear Sir,

You may have a tool or device which refreshes the lines too many times each minute. This may lower the rapidity of access to our site for other clients.

The performance problems that you experienced is due to an overload of our system caused by customers using automated tools to get our lines.

There are actually a few of our customers that are using automated tools to get the line from our site. Some use auto-refresh at the browser level or actual customer made tools. In several instances the lines are gathered several times during the same second.

If one or two or our customers would be doing this we could close our eyes to it but the sum of all these automated tools ends up putting a lot of stress on our system. We actively monitor our system and shut down the IP that demonstrate abusive usage of our services.

When you tell us that you will stop using automated tools we will grant access to your IP.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at csd@pinnaclesports.com.

A bookmark would not cause this. I'm not familiar with how bestbettor works, so I can't answer there. If you have a browser performing an auto-refresh, that could certainly be the culprit. But instead of guessing, I think it would be best to call Pinnacle and address the issue. I'm sure it can be easily resolved from there as they've probably dealt with a number of customers on this matter.

Please be advised that your IP has been unblocked and you should be able to access our site again.

We suggest you contact your internet provider regarding the issue on robotic tools.

Contact your internet provider? Odd response, unless they expect your ISP to give you an education on robotic tools. Beyond that, your ISP is irrelevant to the issue at-hand.
