Buddy of mine played college football,,6'7 300 pounds,,his wife is like 4'9 90 pounds,,He always pays extra to be one of the first on board to get the exit row, because of the extra room. Last trip coming home from Vegas some guy had sat down and my buddy plopped down right beside him. Guy said Im sorry but I am saving that seat for my wife.My buddy said where is she?He said oh she's in boarding group C. My buddy sad well I guess she will have to see what seats are left! Guy called the FA and the FA told him if you can make that big dude move then get after it!Guy stormed to the back...There is going to be a brawl one day and I am guessing SWA will have to come up with a policy..

I thought they had a policy but they don't. There are a lot of topics about it when searching google.

If someone says they are saving a seat, you can take it if you want to be a dick.
I would imagine it all depends which side you are on,,If you are saving it and someone takes it then THEY are the dick,,,If you are wanting it and someone says they are saving it then THEY are the dick,,Either way its a dick and I aint interested!:0002

Yeah, I stay away from conflicts like that, it's not that important to me.
Man, I really hate airports and flying and the lines and people that come with it.
Reading that thread confirms that people are the self entitled nut low of the planet. The nut low of airlines on that planet is still SWA.
Why can they assign a boarding spot but not a seat? Just stupid.
I have a near irrational hatred for that airline, but on the day I want to go to Vegas they have the only nonstop flight so I'm considering it. The problem is there will be four in my group and we will want to/need to sit together and with the cattle call boarding process Southwest uses that is never a guarantee.
If you pay the extra $15 per ticket, which I would gladly do, it looks like you get automatically checked in 36 hours before flight as opposed to checking in manually 24 hours before. The reviews on this are all over the board so I'm wondering if any of you have experience doing this?
My other option is $100 more for Delta Comfort seats but it's a connecting flight with a limited delay:
4:25 nonstop on Southwest playing seat assignment roulette
6:03 on Delta with more comfortable assigned seats, but changing planes once
Thoughts?
Lets see here brilliant one....
1. chance two flights versus one
2. 60 dollars non-stop versus 100 connecting????? And, you are guaranteed walking on early in A group. 4 seats together is easy. You cant do two and two together worst case? Easily all will be together. Are you really comtemplating this?
Smartest guy I know.......oh yeah, can pack extra stuff if needed going or coming because checked bags are free. Guess you just have a hard-on for the airline, period. You might be the only one on the planet. Their on-time is pretty awesome with me over many years.
No, you are not guaranteed to get in the "A" group. You get checked in behind business class, people with A-Priority and people who bought anytime fares, THEN you get checked in with all those who purchased early check in in the order everyone bought tickets.
I have an AMEX gold Delta Skymiles card so baggage fees are not a concern as they are waived for me.
As far as the "on time" argument, I would check the facts if I were you.

Edit to add= That link is from last year, current rankings are not much different. Delta #2 On Time ranking 82.76, Southwest 78.55%.
SW my favorite airline. Always treated well. They are always my 1st choice.
Like I said above, getting on a plane turns people into animals. They care only about their wants and give zero shits about anyone/anything else.

You do see the irony, right? What makes you and your group more entitled to sit together any more than other people that are in groups? They will face the same seating system, so you do your best, and if you can't sit together, you
