Never dealt with a mound or red ants but i've found spraying a bunch of bathroom foam cleaner and letting it sit has stopped ants every single time except once when i've had to stop a invasion of the persistent bastards. Fwiw...

:jump: Hehehe... I bought a 75-cent box of grits from the grocery market the other day. Poured half of the box right on top of a huge mound of ants. Today, I got a shovel to check if there were still ants inside the mound. :jump: Hahaha! No one's home!
