Freeze makes a great point.

Freeze makes a great point.

I hope I read this right since I am tired as hell...but....To not have insurance...nor a job...nor any responsibilities...we will pay for the treatment for these people...Just remember...when U see some 1 begging U for a $1 give them the want ads and tell them if you got a job...handing them a newspaper.. I wouldn't have to pay for your ass on the street as they are getting a check( need I reasure you)..but a damn liberal who gives them a $1 reinforces them to keep standing on the corner as they know others will support them...STOP SUPPORTING THEM...if they can stand on a corner for 6 hrs asking for change...they must give up that disability check as I am sure they can sit for 8 hrs doing a desk job....Damnit don't get me going>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yeah, those people living on the streets have it easy. If those people sicken you, then don't give them anything, but you have a lot of nerve to get up on your soapbox telling everybody else not to help them. A large percentage of the people that you have such disdain for are mentally ill. While i'm sure that means nothing to you, it *does* to some people.

You can keep waving want ads in their face, and others will continue to support their lavish lifestyle made possible by the 15 bucks a day that they're pulling down.

I could support your thoughts Kosar but I to am tired of trying to help people understand some those folks dont want to be out there. However I dont want to get started on the great money saving ideas that came from Ronal Reagan. Yes it helped closed many old nut houses for lack of a better word. Yes there now on the street with little hope of any treatment. Street people it was estimated doubled while he was in office. Churchs try as best they can. But there's way to many. Thats why I always say. We seem to have so much money to help all the ills of the world. But that little extra to solve afew of these problems here is always called welfair. I wonder what we call the 30 million dollars we just pissed away to the guy that helped us find Saddam boys. Did we ever thinkof just starting at 5 million.

Do I think these homeless people are mentally ill?.....Well let me start off by saying I work at the AZ State Hospital...I am on the forensic unit...murders, rapist etc....but these people have committed a crime to be where I am at....On the civil side they have not committed a crime but are mentally insane. On the forensic side many of them were homeless and had signs that read...why lie I need a beer....and we would support their habit????We support it until they commit a crime then we say who in the hell is responsible for this? Their are many individuals whoi came from the streets and cant wait to get back to their inhabitant to make a living cause we make it so easy for them...for some yes it may be 7 to 20 yrs but they revert back..we give them therapy and attempt to show them this is a very unhealthy way of living but its the way they know they will be supported by doing nothing and getting a few bucks for it. Are many of them Vietnam vets? Well the ones I have there is 1 out of 350....and he never lived on the street. So you say I have a disdane way of feeling...I see the way these people are living on the street and committing crimes and the people of the USA are asking why dont we help our own homeless instead of helping these other countries...well the homeless dont want a job the only help they want is a free handout. A JOB? hell no..they tell us why get a job when you working people are supporting us...Now on the forensic side they are in for murder or what have you and the people saydont give them shit in their they are criminals....NO cable TV no luxurys etc...but on the outside you people keep feeding them with dollars everyday to where why should they get off the street....UR supporting them......

some people don't realize that by giving these people on the street money you are reinforcing that behavior

in effect you are

1. Promoting this lifestyle and if they can work, they will not again start

2. If they can't work and are mentally unstable, they will not go to the shelter where they get free food and a little direction increasing their chances of getting help

Mental health is in shambles right now and is only on the increase as the number of 1 parent homes increases (which statistically set up the kids for more problems thereafter....i know i know there are good single parent homes out there but i am talking about the odds and not the exceptions). States budgets are being trimmed so county and state hospitals can't keep these people for adequate treatment. Sexual offenders are on the streets....a kid gets raped or something and his or her chances of becoming schizo, depressed, or another disorder that makes him or her nonfunctional go way up. Breakdown of families which can mostly but not always be put on the shoulders of men who never grow up is also really hurting this country.

I have seen a lot of it and no doubt SKEETER has seen much more of it. Not sure what we can do now but promote the traditional family model more and try to instill some morals back into people but hey those are being yanked right out of public schools. Just exactly what we don't need right now. I see lots of JDC kids and their parent(s) are in more need of help than the kids are. Nothing you can for them really cuz they go right back to horrible environment.

I guess it may depend on where you live. I have had no homeless person ask me for anything ever. We have agreat salvation army here that does good job. It even helps put them back to work. In the larger citeis thay just dont have enough room for them all. So I guess it's back on the street. Were a little short on cash here in the USA we give to dam much to other countries that rape us good. We could handle afew of our own home less if we really gave a chit.
