serena (-720) vs. justine-henin (+565)
i am gonna take a shot here with henin. this will be the 3rd match between these 2 played on clay - and they have split the previous 2. after serena won her match saturday they interviewed her. she said she plays better on red clay than green - and this tourney is on green clay.
as we know, matches on clay usually give american players a tough time (see french open for proof) and i think serena might have a really tough time here. i do think this match goes 3 sets and i will take my chances with the dog here.
at the family cup site - they ran a poll BEFORE the tourney started asking people who they thought would win the tourney. the breakdown was 76% to 16% to 5% for the top 3 vote getters who were, in reverse order, lindsey davenport, serena and justine-henin. by almost a 5-1 ratio the fans gave nod to justine over serena. i know that many times the masses is asses but i will take my chances here they get it right.
i know serena wants to go unbeaten for the year - but that ain't gonna happen. she WILL lose sometime - so why not here - in a lesser tourney when she might not be as focused as a grand slam event.
Justine-Henin +565 is something i will take a shot at. NO WAY should the number be this high. serena might win it - but at this price - only ONE WAY i am playing this one
