Let me help...

Let me help...

What would the correct ignition timing be on a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet, with a 327 cubic-inch engine and a four-barrel carburetor?

That's a trick question!

What would the correct ignition timing be on a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet, with a 327 cubic-inch engine and a four-barrel carburetor?
Now, uh, Ms. Vito, being an expert on general automotive knowledge, can you tell me... what would the correct ignition timing be on a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet, with a 327 cubic-inch engine and a four-barrel carburetor?
Mona Lisa Vito: It's a bullshit question.
D.A. Jim Trotter: Does that mean that you can't answer it?
Mona Lisa Vito: It's a bullshit question, it's impossible to answer.
D.A. Jim Trotter: Impossible because you don't know the answer!
Mona Lisa Vito: Nobody could answer that question!
D.A. Jim Trotter: Your Honor, I move to disqualify Ms. Vito as a "expert witness"!
Judge Chamberlain Haller: Can you answer the question?
Mona Lisa Vito: No, it is a trick question!
Judge Chamberlain Haller: Why is it a trick question?
Vinny Gambini: [to Bill] Watch this.
Mona Lisa Vito: 'Cause Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '62. And it wasn't offered in the Bel Air with a four-barrel carb till '64. However, in 1964, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before top-dead-center.
D.A. Jim Trotter: Well... um... she's acceptable, Your Honor.

FDC, I hope you won't mind taking a question from a friend of mine in the Detroit area, but she's got quite the dilemma and is interested in your advice:

From her:
"I've got this guy friend (actually more of a stalker than friend) who has a bit of a "landscaping" issue. I'm not sure what to think of him really... I can tell that he has expensive taste and is not afraid to flaunt it (constantly rubbing it in everyone's face), but he seems to have something of a personality disorder, coming off as very attention needy and loves talking about stuff he does that should be embarrassing to a guy, like getting mani-pedis and anal bleaching. Anyway, getting to the main issue -- he's got this asinine idea in his head that I'm his "girlfriend." When I first encountered this guy, I honestly thought he was really flamboyant, so there's no way he'd ever had a girlfriend. What's more, whenever I see him now, he won't hesitate a second to drop trou in order show me his "man region" like it's something I want to see and it's very awkward. The problem is that there's nothing to see there because the "fruit" is hidden from the "bushes." I'm not even sure if there's any fruit hanging there, to be honest. He seemed to notice my reaction to this behavior as one of amusement initially and he tried to explain things by saying it was so "coooooold" and freezing, blaming it on some kind of "polar vortex" or something. I want to tell this guy (this stalker) that if he's going to keep doing this, he should really shave his "downstairs." I mean, how can you expect anybody to take you seriously when you've got the Amazon rain forest growing down there. So, what do you think? How should I tell him he needs to shave and how do I get this creep to stop calling me his girlfriend?

Yours truly,
xxxxxx

So FDC, can you help my friend out? I left her name out because of the sensitive subject matter, but it sounds like she's in desperate need of advice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :0008
There are several ways to address this.
The easiest yet least tactful would be for her to respond to his next exposure with a tasteless insult directed at his manhood or lack thereof and it's bushy nest. It's always helpful to bring a hint of racism or bigotry into the comment in order to inhibit further communication from the lout.
Small penis stereotypes generally hold more heat when applied quickly and without regard to social acceptance. For instance next time he bares himself she could ask if "he's really good at math too".
A more discreet way to address this is with a can of contact cleaner, or brake degreaser with a little straw in the spray hole at the ready for the next unveiling.
However, I do believe that a direct and candid approach would serve her best. He is the equivalent of the school yard boy running up and punching the object of his desires in the arm and running away. He can be controlled with a stern warning that doesn't dissolve to laughter. Simply tell him that his behavior is wholly inappropriate and that she's allergic to pet dander.
Hope this helps,
FDC

Allegiant Air pilots are governed by the Railway Labor Act which mandates a 30 day cooling off period prior to a pre-authorized strike. Since they are currently in mediation and have not yet asked to be released from it, I do not think they will strike. The airline has code share agreements in place to pick up their busiest routes. The pilots gave very little negotiating power at this point and are simply angling for binding arbitration. If they did indeed to strike, it would be short lived and a negligible inconvenience to the company. It cannot happen prior to April 10th at the earliest. There is less than a 5% chance of a strike.
Hope this helps,
FDC

Great question. Your answer lies in the known properties of physics. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This theory holds true for all things living. Conscientious thought will bring about conscientious objectivity. As humans we are bridled with subjective and reactive emotions. Subjective emotions such as hate and anger can usurp cogent thought processes bringing about the absence of common sense and deductive reasoning. This plays a large part in the social structure of human beings innate herd/pack mentality. Herds provide safety and security, thus providing resources necessary for life without the need secondary emotions such as creativity, faith, and imagination. While these may be what separates from many other organisms they are a double edged sword. As we nurture and reward gains made to the herd through secondary emotions, we summarily place less and less importance to the needs of the pack and seek the reward of individual gains. We start to imagine that we no longer need the herd for safety. We start to "imagine" that we are just a little but better than our brothers, and we begin to dilute our innate emotions in favor of unrealistic secondary emotions. Unfortunately, this affects those that have a lesser degree of innate emotional and social inheritance. These people are much more easily influenced by superfluous gratification. This leads to ideology and class systems, thus usurping the opposite of one for all, all for one.
Hope this helps,
FDC

This is some good stuff right here. :0003

What's the best home remedy for removing a skin tag?
Fishing line or dental Floss wrapped twice tightly around the base and tied off. Tag will fall off in about 48-72 hours, pain free.
They can be removed with nail clippers but may bleed. Use a topical ointment like betacaine prior to snipping for pain.

Oh I have another one. ...What's a skin tag?
Skin tags are general benign growths that occur on anyone but are more prevalent on obese people. Most appear in the folds of the groin, armpits, eyelids, upper back and neck. They are usually easily removed dependent upon size.

What would it take for Republicans and Democrats

to bury their hatchets, band together, ditch special interest handouts and collectively do the right things for the average American? (Besides an act of a supreme being?) :0corn
