Usually a nasty event to cap with weather and all but current forcast calls for no rain, however can change quickly!
Got a 72 hole match @ WSEX I'm going on early.
Singh +170 over Tiger.
VJ has better scoring ave on this event of the two.
Tiger last 3 here 53-1-13 VJ 10-2-2
Tiger has won only 3 rds of 8 past 2 years here vs VJ.
Woods has only 2 top 10's in past 10 events,VJ has 4.
At +170 I'll take a look.

You must have been getting impatient DTB:D

3 big price outsiders to start with - maybe one of them will finish 2nd
All had good finishes in the Bob Hope and all have won on the Monterey Peninsula on the Buy.com tour
Berganio 125/1 William Hill
Baird 125/1 Bet365
Deane Pappas 160/1 Centrebet
Main selection to follow - still waiting for a decent price

Bettingmad - must be time for you to back McCarron :thefinger

Final choice and the main one is Jerry Kelly - after his win he played weel to finish 5th the following week - has a good record here - 8th and 4th last 2 years 33/1 most places 40/1 at Heathorns (was 50/1 at Tatts - not sure if that is still there but I am sure Boris will let us know;) )

Ian,
You're not deserting poor old 'beam me up' are you?

Must admit I deliberately checked his form to see if I could find a reason for betting him this week if you said you were leaving him alone... his m/c 1997, 71st in 1998, 44th in 1999, 69th 2000 did not not offer much hope... but his 12th last year was better and before Phoenix his 13-5-18-6-4 looks solid..... one average week does not make an average player..

After having a small interest on Clive's dog Bradford Vaughan last week I can more easily find a reason for backing your McCarron.... and at least I will not have to suffer the 2/3 seconds of false euphoria when you notice Vaughan on the leaderboard... only to then realise it's Bruce and not Bradford!

I'm obviously still psychologically scarred from my own similar scenario with Robert Karlsson.... I need to back someone else's winning discard to exorcise some ghosts of my own.

Tell me where the best price is... I'm sure you have looked for him at them all
;)

These outrights not for faint of heart. Will downgrade plays to 1/2 unit each this week considering event. Odds.to place @ Oly
Herron 37.5/1
Couples 25/1
Zinger 12.5/1
Lickliter 25/1

With exception of Herron all have placed in top 5 in last 4 years here.Herron has a 19,13 and 10 last 4 and since going to claw has been putting much better. Also the worse the weather is the better I like his chances. Now that you think I bonkers the player I was really wanting to play on but no place bet available but will probably take unofficial e/w flyer on is Craig Stadler.Five top 5's in 23 events here(22%) and 2 top 5's last 5 and another claw converted.

Like the play on Herron. 150/1 @Olympic is double what I was expecting.

Will add McCarron 50's with SportingOdds.

At the available odds I think Singh can be discarded. He does not look as confident as I would like; Furyk would be a possible at 33's but I think there is something missing from his game at present . I hope both improve as they have both done me well on the spreads over the years.

Good Luck.

Rio...

Get onto Betfair and lay me some 20s Singh then, please..I will gladly accomodate you! Looking at the odds available there, you will have no shortage of takers!
18 available with Luvbet, but I wouldn't mind topping up!

a couple 72 holes @ Camelot
Couples +100 over Triplett
Trip stepped in hole last week and WD'd with bad wheel, maybe it hasn't heeled yet plus Fred doesn't look to bad if its well.

D Paulson -130 over C Perry
I really like Perry and nothing like me laying heavy chalk to bring one back from the dead as he has only busted 70 twice in last 8 events making no cuts.Has ave 73 in those 15 rds and WD'd twice in 1st rd so looking at 25% chance he won't make it to Saturday let alone weekend.

Stanley - When you say Azinger at 66-1 at Ladbrokes [5 places option], I'm confused by your wager. Is this a one unit bet at 66-1 to win, and a one unit bet at (.2) * (66-1) = 13.2-1 for top 5 placing. I'm just familiar with Olympic where there is one pool with win odds and a separate pool for top 4. Thanks.

Couchpotato, this is a 1-unit outlay. So in this case, it would be 0.5 units @ 66/1 to win and 0.5 units @ 66/5 to finish in the top-5. With each-way betting, the two bets are combined so there is not the option of just taking the 'show' (or 'place') element.

I got in a rather heated discussion with a local fellow last week who caddies for Kernohan on Buy.com about Thur and Friday pairings. He insisted it was luck of the draw and I asked him how Tiger manages to get paired with O'mear in almost every tourney in common to which he said I was exaggerating and it was coincidence. I say bullshit!Another luck of the draw this week?
I asked same question last year, how does he get by with this preferential treatment?

Clive I couldn't agree more on your "get a grip" article!

I HAVE A FRIEND THAT WAS DIRECTOR OF RULES AND COMPETITION FOR THE PGA FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS.
HE WILL BE ON THE SENIOR TOUR THIS YEAR AND HOPEFULLY WILL DO WELL.
THEY TREAT TOURNAMENTS IN A LEAST 2 WAYS.
THE SO CALLED INVITATIONAL ONES SUCH AD THIS WEEK AND THE TOURNAMENT TIGER "SPONSORED " AND REGULAR TOURNAMENT SUCH AS COLONIAL, HOUSTON , DORAL, ETC.

THIS DOES NOT COUNT THE OPEN, MASTER, PGA OR BRITISH WHER THE PAIRING ARE DONE BY SEPARATE COMMITTEE.

ON REGULAR TOURNAMENT THE PAIRING ARE PULLED RANDOMLY FROM THREE DIFFERENT POOL SAY A, B, AND C PLAYERS. YOU WILL HAVE THREE A PLAYERS TOGETHER, 3 B'S ETC.

IN THE SPECIAL TOUNAMENTS THEY WILL PAIR FRIEND WITH FRIENDS ETC.

I BELIEVE THIS IS THE CASE.
