"To be honest with you" or "to tell you the truth"--what does that mean that all the other times you are lying to me?
Not sure why this thread reminded me of this old joke
Knock Knock ...
Who is there ?
Interrupt A Pirate
Interrupt a ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then you scream HARDY HAR HAR...... before they finish
.......................................
essentially they are calling you a fawkin Pirate
I think I played that one out with yyz one time. Except I replaced the Pirate with Clown. He was pissed
"To be honest with you" or "to tell you the truth"--what does that mean that all the other times you are lying to me?
I always interrupt people when they say these 2 and say "YOU MEAN ALL THE OTHER TIMES YOU WERE LYING?"
This is the one that I can?t stand too. Makes no sense.
I do not like ?whatever? either at all.
?It is what it is? was also mentioned, and that makes me cringe as well.
I?m not sure if these dumb little catchphrases annoy me the most or if it?s terrible grammar. The house I rent in the city i work is owned by a physician. He texted me, ?where you at?? A few days ago, and he?s intelligent
to break me from adding the "at" my Grandmother would say, "behind the at."
to break me from adding the "at" my Grandmother would say, "behind the at."
My mom said, ?it?s between the ?a? and the ?t? on preposition street.? 😂
Idk if this one counts but........
Smell my fingers
:scared it does not count
?We?re taking it one game at a time."
?Next man up?
?The ceiling is the roof."
?They?re looking to next season.?
?It is what it is."
?They just wanted it more."
?He?s a locker room cancer."
so many of these that sometimes they say in interview "I know it's a cliche, but..."
then this new cliche is followed by the old cliche
We can start a new one with just sports cliches there are so many. Your off to great start.
