How many times a year does Christmas come at Weinerdog's house? I count at least 4 during 2009 if you actually count X-Mas Day itself.

The funny thing is Baroni said the nice guy routine is not working for him, yet he is 3-1 in last 4 fights and felt like he should have got decision over Riggs.
When did he start being nice because he was his typical ass self during his losing streak.

Does anyone remember what the Mousasi vs Babalu line was for the Affliction card? I thought it was on the low side but now on the Strikeforce card it's in the 200's. Am I not remembering it correctly?

Funny thing Dana said. This was in the third post in illuminators Tito thread. Coach it is the same shit we said. Glad Dana realized it and did the right thing. He realized nobody was jonesing for Franklin and Hendo again.

Other big news included the scratch of a Rich Franklin vs. Dan Henderson fight as the main event for UFC 103 on Sept. 19 in Dallas. The two had fought to a split decision Henderson victory in January and according to White, fans weren?t interested in a rematch.

Franklin will still appear at UFC 103 to face Vitor Belfort. Henderson is now first in line to face middleweight champion Anderson Silva following his upcoming battle with Griffin at UFC 101.

?Fans were pissed, there was some backlash, people didn?t like it,? White said. ?So we went out and signed Vitor Belfort, so he?s fighting Franklin in Dallas in September. Henderson is next in line to fight for Anderson. If Anderson doesn?t get busted up next week it could happen real soon.?

Fedor Emelianenko Signs With Strikeforce, Will Debut at M-1 Co-Promoted Fall Event


Fedor EmelianenkoFedor Emelianenko, widely-regarded as the top heavyweight in the world, has signed a ?historic, multi-fight agreement? with Strikeforce that will see him headline Strikeforce events co-promoted by M-1 Global.

Strikeforce announced the signing on Monday, ending more than a week of speculation and negotiation that ensued following the collapse of Affliction?s MMA promotion, which was set to host an August 1 bout between Emelianenko and Josh Barnett only to cancel the card late last month after Barnett tested positive for steroids.

Fedor?s first Strikeforce fight will air live on Showtime this fall.

?I am looking forward to going back to work and fighting at the highest level,? said Emelianenko in the announcement. ?Strikeforce is a top fight promotion that houses some of the greatest fighters in the world. I am prepared to fight any of them.?

Damn, that's BIG for Strikeforce. They are going to have some monster cards.

You can say what you want but there are some good fights for him there. Outside of Brock the UFC has nothing to offer him. Carwin and Cain are too green for Fedor(Brock is as well but name wise it would be a big fight). Overeem, Rogers, Arvloski again and then Barnett next year when he's done with his suspension. If Lashley gets better over the next two years I can see him signing with them.(not sure how much better he can get but there's potential)

Will be interesting to see how he incorporates elbows in to his game and how fighting in a cage for the first time affects him

Lay, I agree there are some fights there but still would like to see Fedor/Couture before Randy can't fight anymore. Also would like to see Fedor vs Brock and Carwin. Rogers is still a newby also. Either organization has mediocre to good HWs, but I think the big names are in UFC. Either way, finally he signed and can we be done with the (Favre) I mean Fedor talk until he fights again.

I really am curious the terms of the agreement, I know it was all about the co-promo thing but did he lose money by not signing with UFC? M-1 seems like some selfish guys running it but don't know enough to make that a fact.

I hope Kick isn't anywhere with a gun after the Fedor news. Bet he is out celebrating Simcoe Day with all the other Canadians. This could ruin the day for him.

personally,i like it this way...i hope strikeforce thrives and grows bigger...

when we had ufc and pride,we got more quality programming and imo,the more the merrier..

wec/ufc/strikeforce/m-1......i hope they all do well....

i`m not crazy about these 3 week dry spells without an mma card....

should be no "dry" weekends between all these mma org`s and boxing...
