Anyone think we are gonna start seeing UFC Spike cards opposite Strikeforce cards?

Maybe its just me
but I'm not really thrilled about the idea
of Fedor vs. Brett Rodgers
or Fedor vs. Overeem

They seem to be slow with putting a Franklin vs Belfort line up. Usually at least one of the books is pretty quick with getting a line up. I'll be very intersted to see what they do with it. I like Franklin and think he'll be a small fav but I have no clue where the line will come out.

Not sure if this classifies as news, but has anyone else noticed the line difference in the Mousasi/Babalu fight once they switched from Affliction to Strikeforce???

I had Mousasi in parlays at -165 and he was dropping back on the Affliction card.

Now on the Strikeforce card Mousasi is -260.
What led to such a huge swing??

I asked the same question above(post 5), that's a big swing.

"the bunker"
apparently the books that hung a line on the babalu/mous tiff got strong mous action and they adjusted their odds accordingly after the fact....

based on what i`ve read on this board, babalu is a sacrificial lamb...

Some good news for KIck

?Although the deal with Strikeforce is an exclusive one, it?s far from a contract signed in blood as Fedor is currently contractually obligated to fight for Strikeforce for just one year. Basically it?s three fights over the next year, and we?ll start in the fall some time? The very first fight that Fedor fights will be on Showtime, and then the roll-out of television from there forward hasn?t been determined 100%, but his first fight will be on Showtime. [Fedor] and Alistair Overeem should be an amazing fight, and people that haven?t seen Alistair, you know, he?s an amazing fighter.. I think we should do a couple of fights and build that one up, and then let their champion fight our champion, and let?s see what happens. We?re hoping that Alistair will be ready to fight in the Fall, and we can put him on one of the cards with Fedor, and not fight against each other but fight against someone else, and let?s build that fight up"

So it looks like the deal is only one year 3 fight deal (like he had 3 fights left on his M-1 contract) So in a year the UFC will be going after him again

Bad for Kickserv:

Ronaldo ?Jacare? Souza Signs With Strikeforce, Will Reportedly Debut on October 25 in Fresno
Posted by Kris Karkoski on Aug 5, 2009 at 9:34 am ET9 Comments

Ronaldo Jacare SouzaMiddleweight submission expert Ronaldo ?Jacare? Souza has signed a multi-fight deal with Strikeforce and will fulfill his first fight on the contract ?in the fall?, the promotion announced on Wednesday.

According to GracieMag, ?Jacare?, who was expected to fight Jason ?Mayhem? Miller at DREAM 11 on October 6, will instead make his Strikeforce debut at an October 25 event in Fresno, California, which could also host the Strikeforce debut of top-ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko.

Souza?s first bout could be an interim middleweight title matchup against former EliteXC champion Jake Shields, who was added to the card earlier this week.

?Jacare? (10-2), who had been rumored to be joining the UFC in late-2007 only to instead sign with DREAM, won his first three fights with the promotion over Ian Murphy, ?Mayhem?, and Zelg Galesic to extend his win streak to 10-straight. Souza would next suffer a first-round knockout to Gegard Mousasi in the finals of DREAM?s middleweight grand prix last September, then fought to a no contest in a rematch with Miller after being cut open by an illegal kick in the May bout.

Strikeforce will hold a media conference call on Thursday during which it is expected to announce details on the October event as well as its recently-announced ?alliance? with DREAM.

Say what you will about Dream,M1 and all those comical organizations, but NOBODY can bash Strikeforce.
People question Fedor for joining them like UFC is just so much more loaded.
That is becoming a joke.
While the UFC has a clear cornered market on the Light HW division, the rest in Strikeforce are not far off what UFC has to offer.
I mean look at the Top 10 Middleweights or even LHW in Strikeforce:
Mousasi, Babalu, Lawler, Nick Diaz, Santiago, Jake Shields. Now you add Jacare to that mix.

Addition of Fedor and you could argue HW is comparable with unbeaten Rogers, Werdum, Overeem.

STRIKEFORCE IS NO JOKE. Dana better stop making everything so personal because Strikeforce does business in a much better waty than Elite,Dream. or Affliction. And now they have M1 with them which could be a huge addition while Dana looked at it as a burden.

Also I can't remember watching a Strikeforce card which is always on Showtime and not PPV(Huge bonus) and left being disappointed. Strikeforce puts on a hell of a show.

Hi, Not news to you all but news to me. If I don't get showtime monthly, can you buy the Strikeforce cards on PPV? For example, how much is Showtime for a month, can you just buy a month and discontinue or can you just buy the fights on SHO PPV or something for under $50? Just dont want to get Showtime each month if there is not a lot of fights on it. Or are these fights on regular showtime so it may be worth it to get? Thanks if someone could explain more, I have only purchased PPV
