most of 'em are at Aus or UK-based books like centrebet, Stan James, Ladbrokes, sportingbet etc....i'm guessing olympic woud offer odds of a similar nature; haven't checked in there for a while cos funds there are low :(

Anders:

I just found this thread. You're havin one hell of a tournament. Congratulations. I don't play much tennis, just b/c the juice is heavy and u need a lot of weird books (at least for me). Keep knockin out those winners, brother.

Chuck me old mate

You're right about the books - had to open a couple of new a/c for this tournament alone.

The good thing is the big swings in prices between books - can usually find a good line. And I've been backing mostly dogs, which has been very profitable in a tournament of upsets.

If u like, get my e-mail from jack and drop me a line; would love to keep in touch and shoot the chit
:toast:

Recapping: 1-2 from last time out as Gaudio lost in 5 after being 2-0 up and Martin lost in 5 too

Didn't play anything yesterday but have a couple for today...

Federer -130 ($1.77) o Haas
Costa +100 ($2) o Ferreira

Chalk players may also want to play Rios -183 ($1.55) o Lapentti, too short for me.

GLTA :)

Yesterday: 0-2 (-2.00 units)
Tournament to Date: +11.80 units

RIOS over HAAS

RIOS over HAAS

I have a wager already on Tommy Haas winning the tournament from the start @21.00, well I also had Henman. Anyways, I saw Rios play Lapentti and it was not pretty.

Rios is in incredible form and I believe he will defeat Haas tonight. I have not seen Rios play this well in a number of years.

In the other match, even though nothing is obvious, it looks like Safin should destroy Ferreira.

Strictly ...

Strictly ...

A good spot for a wager for u then..

GL with Haas, but I agree with u on Rios today. He hasn't been stretched at all yet while Tommy must be hurting a bit after 5-setters v Martin and Feds. Good prices available on a "slightly" more mature Rios makes him today's play.

Hope the chalk players got on Novak - u guys have done ok past 2 days :)

Today: Rios +115 o Haas

GLTA :)

I'm finally back after having major problems in getting my computer fixed. The store sold me a fan for the CPU I bought at the same time and it didn't work with the CPU and burnt it out. They of course tried to blame me when they had sold me the wrong fan and after trying to call them for 3 days to find out what was going to happen and getting nowhere I turned up at the shop. After having a major argument with some technician I spoke to another guy who gave agreed to give me a new CPU and the correct fan and only charged me for the price difference between the original incorrect fan and the correct fan. So, in the end I was happy with the result but wouldn't go back there again to buy any computer parts.

I also discovered how hard it can be to get sports scores without the Internet. I had a few bets on the tennis on saturday and was trying to find out the score of the Ferreira match. I tried television, radio, a radio sports program but they all missed the score of that particular match. Early, the next morning about 1:30 am the Sunday newpaper was delievered and I checked the sports section and I couldn't believe it the score of just that game was missing from their too and I knew the game was played as I had heard the first set score. I eventually rang some number that charged a ridiculous amount per minute to hear the score whioh was Ferreira comin back from 2 sets to 0 and 4-1 down to win in 5.

Hear are my bets I had during the time I was away just so my record is accurate. Note the multi is a result of the TAB not allowing you to make up your own multiples as it is probably not something a group of matches I would normally bet.

Saturday
Costa d Pavel 2.45
Ferreira d Ljubicic 2.00
Haas d Martin/Ferreira d Ljubicic/Safin d Youhnzy/Sampras d Escude 4.50 (Half a Unit)

Yes, they were all winners. I couldn't belive it as it would have be a disaster without the Ferreira comeback.

Tournament Record
Mens: +3.5 Units
Womens: -2 Units

Tournament: +0.5 Units

Womens Semi Plays
Clistjers d Capriati 2.10

I also thinking about a couple of units on Hingis winning the tournament.

Good to see u back Craig and even better to see you've been winning, nice one

Rios was 2nd best last nite - Haas played all the big pts better despite Rios having opportunities.

Yesterday: 0-1
Tournament to Date: +10.80 units

Nothing for today from me, men's semi is a toss-up so Novak may offer some value as a small dog if you have to play something.

Quite like Craig's Clijsters play but worried about the injuries both players have so will watch instead.

Another losing day in the Womens as Capriati beat Clijsters in 3. I did place the 2 unit bet on Hingis at 2.15 to win the tournament.

After looking at the Safin/Haas game I belive Safin will win and has a major advantage with the temperature expected to be 33 degrees celsius in Melbourne. Safin has played 4 sets in 9 hours and 30 mins while Haas has played 20 sets in 13 hours and 9 minutes, a 4 hour difference in on court time.

Mens
Safin d Haas 1.57 2 Units

Mens: +3.5 Units for Tournament
Womens: -3 for Tournament

Overall: -0.5 Units including outright play

Crazy playing that women's final in that heat - they never heard of Korey Stringer? :(

No more bets for me in the tournament - all the value in the Slams are in the early rounds.

Safin should win today at -250 but far too short for me - flaky temperament and if Johannson can keep him out on the hot court for long enough an upset will occur.

Tournament conclusion: +10.80 units :D

Gotta be happy with that; hope others enjoyed
