I certainly wasn't as succinct as AZ Bob when he posted his views on the the Aces Gold fiasco here at Mad Jack's!

While I have been bushwhacked by many here for my views about this subject, AZ Bob conveys the exact way I feel about this situation! I agree with him 100%!

Thanks, AZ Bob, for being eloquent in conveying this message and having the courage to post it without the fear of facing the myoptic goon squad that I did!

I have reposted AZ Bob's message for those who missed it from last week!

??????????????

MadJack Sports Forums > GENERAL > Sportsbooks and Casinos >

Choosing Business Partners @Madjack

I signed on expecting to see alot of discussion about Aces but, I guess no one here got hurt.

At the beginning of football season, the site required players to deposit with Aces in order to participate in one of the NFL contests.

While no one held a gun to anyone's head, it's unfortunate that this MadJack mandate, unusual in the industry as it was and IS, probably cost players quite a bit of money.

Perhaps before you take this position again, you might consider that you are asking players, your customers, to invest in a business that you can't control.

I'm not sure if you personally make all the decisions or you have a group of advisors but, based on recent events (going back to the Aces deposit) if it's the latter you might consider recruiting some new blood.

The other issue is that even though it was a topic of discussion at other sites, there was no mention here of Aces problems which could have allowed some players to pull out.

I think the reader has to realize that this sites' (and others) loyalties are divided between who pays the bills and who visits the site but, there again, you're talking about alot of players getting absolutely no information from a site that exists to share information about the games and the industry. The obvious question is why not?

Perhaps not that many people care about these issues and, I consider myself lucky because I did pull the majority of my money out of Aces right after football season but, I think it's time for some players to take the blinders off and enjoy the site but also realize that it's every man for himself where dollars are concerned and loyalty extends to paying the bills not maintaining integrity.

Simply brilliant observation. You are right Crack Rat and Bob, there is no way in hell Jack was aware that he could not control the actions of a business to which he has no ownership. Unbelievable, thanks for stating the obvious as if it is some earth-shattering revelation.

How about looking at the flip-side: Perhaps before players take the position of posting money with any sportsbook, they too should realize that they are investing in a business that they cannot control. I don't see how it is any different when Jack takes the time to set up a fun contest for people and one of the requirements is to post up with a book. If you don't like the book, don't post with them. Wait for another great contest to pop up and join it if you feel comfortable.

To imply Jack is in some way liable for including that stipulation as part of the contest is completely unfounded and baseless.

Ok 'goons' - go get 'em! LOL

On the course!
I think he meant "myopic" goon squad, but he does have a point. I was walking past the Madjack lobby the other day and overheard the following:

crackrat,

i'll explain this one more time, even though i'm sure it won't get through to you, you narrow minded blockhead!

i accept advertising dollars to have a book list their business and place their banner on madjacksports.com

i am very selective with who i let advertise here, although i don't 'HAVE' to be.

i have turned down more books than i have listed above.

if i don't think a book is safe, or if i have heard negatives about them in the past, they don't get to advertise here.

there are also some sportsbooks that i'd like to have here but they choose not to, for whatever reasons.

8 weeks ago, had aces gold offered to pay a site to advertise there, ALL sites would have accepted their money, as aces gold was in the top 5 sportsbooks on most peoples' list.

we are not a watchdog site.

sportsbooks will not provide me with financial statements, now or ever.

i posted up with aces gold to participate in the contest too.

i am very sorry that members of madjacks lost money with aces gold. i am sorry that i lost money because of aces gold.

this site is not a "scam" and we sincerely try to put out a good product.

quit disrupting this forum, you ****ing moron. you do not have any clue what you're talking about. zilch!

Jack

i think we all know your view on this now Crack Rat.........no need to explain further........no one forces you to take risks.....if we need to hold your hand to make all the decisions in life for you, and you want someone else to take responsibility for your actions, then move to China and they will take care of you as they see fit..........

here in America, we practice self-reliance, responsibility for our own actions, and freedom to do as we wish.

LMFAO!

LMFAO!

It's actually hilarious to see some of the same lamebrain pinheads trying to lynch me for merely expressing my opinion!

Ummm...pull your collective heads out of your asses and understand that I WAS REPOSTING AZ BOB'S POST OF 2-15-02! :fingerc:

WAKE UP! I didn't write that 2-15-02 post, AZ Bob did! I was merely AGREEING with him and applauding his views on this distasteful subject! I noticed NOBODY replied to his original post, but about 200 "views!" Why didn't anyone respond to HIS post? Hmmm?

AZ Bob was able to convey his opinions without getting ambushed for it! What gives? Why wasn't he crucified for that 2-15-02 post?

Like I said to you morons (and you know who you are), I refuse to be considered this site's Judas for merely expressing an unpopular view! :nono:

Funny thing is, I've gotten several e-mails from some Mad Jack members stating support of what AZ Bob wrote! And I DIDN'T EVEN WRITE IT! Fo figure?

Seems like those peeps who e-mailed me are leary of posting their views here in the open forum of MJs because...you guessed it...potential reprisals from the "Myoptic Goon Squad!" LMFAO! :D

Seems I hit a "nerve" by reposting AZ Bob's views on this subject! What gives?
Hmmmm? I guess it's better to "sweep" this entire Aces Gold incident "under the carpet" without further comment, right?

"Where there's smoke, there's usually fire!" NUFF SAID!!!!!

Again, props to AZ Bob! At least HE'S
GOT THE NADS to post his views, no matter how unpopular they are! A+++!

OK, this is starting to bore me! Later!

Thanks for bringing this up again. (that is a sarcastic remark for those of you who communicate with the use of smiley faces and other pictures)

This site has alot of great information regarding the games but, any dissent, question or thinking outside the norm is met with a barrage of vulgar language, angry emot-icons or child-like responses.

Crack...if you are serious about discussing important issues as adults, there are places to do that but, obviously not here.

Good Luck

I just saw your last note. Believe me, the usual suspects lined up to tell me where to go. Some were thoughtful, most reflected the lemming like attitude usually found in junior high.

I know there are a few who are willing to discuss various issues but, they see what happens to anyone who questions the "Lord of the Flies" mentality and there is no blame in them holding back.

I follow a few very good posters here but, there's not need to post anything. (unless I see my name in a title like in this thread)

First of all, AZ Bob or Crack Rat or whomever said it, you are very wrong on one of your points. You state concerning the deposit required to participate in a contest "It's unfortunate that this Madjack's mandate, unusual in the industry as it was and IS (your caps)" is flat out incorrect. There are several sports sites that offer contests sponsored by sportsbooks, ALL requiring a minimum deposit to participate. I don't find that odd. If I am going to put up cash for a tournament, I am not going to play Santa Claus. I will want and get something in return.
Second, I doubt if it was a "madjack's mandate", it was a requirement made by the guy that put up the money. Everybody wants and expects something for nothing, but it seldom happens. There are a couple of websites that deal in nothing but discussion of sportsbooks. Perhaps you find those and add your 2 cents there. Who knows - maybe they are talking about a problem with one where you have some cash right now!

Hey Crackie........
STEP ONE: Put down the crack pipe! (Seeing as how this is going to be an almost impossible task, I won't even concern you with step two.)

And Oh yeah, Hoops, :thefinger :moon:

Azbob,

Out of all the asinine, self-important posts you've made over the years (none of which I have commented on by the way), this one takes the cake. What the hell IS your agenda?

Let me provide the readers of this forum an experience that I had with you. A few years ago, I was asked by Azbob my opinion and experience with Olympic and my reply was that it was about as top notch book as you'll find and that I highly recommend them. A few days later, I received an e-mail saying that he had checked them out, had decided to post up there, and would list me as a referal. I thought this was a nice gesture and responded that I was looking for another out and relayed a list of books that I didn't have accounts with and was prepared to return the favor. I assume he compared this to the books he had accounts with and recommended to me (you guessed it) ACES GOLD! Now, in and of itself, there wasn't anything wrong with this. Aces was solid as a rock. But, that's not the end of the story. As I was surfing around the web later that day, I stumpled upon a thread in another forum. Come to find out, this entire thread was about an ongoing dispute that Azbob was having with (you guessed it) ACES GOLD! The exact nature of the dispute escapes me, but the tread contained extremely hostile posts, emails, and dialogue from both Aces Gold, other posters, and Azbob himself. I was stunned. This jackass EARLIER THAT DAY recommended them to ME, without ANY mention of his feud with Aces. I'm sure Aces would be just extatic to see the name Azbob in the "referred by" box of my account application. Well, obviously, I never did post up with Aces (thank god) and emailed him on it. THEN, this guy has the GALL to email me back with a request that I send him a check for 1/2 of the referal bonus I received from Olympic from his deposit. We're talking about 50 bucks here folks. Needless to say, I nearly fell of my chair and responded with the old "the check's in the mail" routine. Apparantly, I wasn't a "friend" of good ol' Azbob.

Now, let's fast forward to the present. You have the f*cking AUDACITY to come in here and chastise Jack because he didn't warn people? Are you out of your friggen mind? Do you only have access to a terminal on Saturdays? My question is: WHERE THE HELL IS YOUR WARNING STATEMENT? In your first post in this thread you ask this forum and its readers " While other "watchdog" sites had information re: the status of Aces, I didn't see anything here. Why not?" Then, in the very next post you state, "I took care of my friends, you left your players hanging." Well, isn't that just dandy. Who, exactly, are your friends. I just looked up HYPOCRITE in the dictionary and there was a picture of your glowing mug right next to it.

Also, I would like to know your definition of a "watchdog site." In my opinion, a debate can be made that there really is no such things as a watchdog site. And if there is, this site certainly doesn't claim to be one. And as far as your claim that the pied piper led us rats down the sewer by requiring a post-up to enter a contest, let me offer this up. Requiring a minimal deposit is almost becoming a requirement for most book-sponsored contests nowadays. This was not some radical scheme conjured up to suck our loot away. These are all over the place. For the most part, books (in general) would like to do away with contests altogether. Why? Because books have come to identify "contest bangers" which can be characterized as folks who go around the web looking for a free lunch, bang every contest in sight, with no intention whatsoever of ever posting up with the sponsoring book. In my opinion, this is a shame, especially to those who actually intend to post up their own loot and MAY consider doing so in a book who sponsors a contest in which they enter. Let's face it, books sponsor contests as an advertising outlet. In fact, that's the actual definition of the word itself.

This site (and other sites like it) depend upon advertising to keep things running, and in this sense, is no different from thousands of other businesses. Were there warning signs that Aces was having trouble. Yes. But, up until yesterday, bookmakers and players were still behind them. I'll quote Hoops here, " the facts were...for over 6 years Aces/Sports Market was one of the most solid, respected offshore books in existence. Slow or no pay had NEVER been an issue. Square and wiseguys alike singed their praises...." To even SUGGEST that Jack and this site forsaw this and/or are responsible leaves me in an UPROAR and to allude that Jack misled this forum and sacrificed a pretty good chunk of his own dough for a few extra advertising dollars is equally rediculous, and quite frankly, bottomfeeder material........

WOW........this topic never ceases to amaze me......basically,
gambling is illegal (on sports anyway), except in the state of
Nevada, so this IS an illegal hobby for the mass on this site.....
am I guilty????.......yes.....am I smart enough to realize I may
get my ass burnt?????.....yes.....do I still do it?????.....yes.....
can Madjack or ANY other site give me unlimited protection????..
....no......What the heck is so hard to understand about that???..
  :)

Hoops,

Strangely enough, he posted *this* over at BW and he got about the same reception as he got here. So, I don't think that that's where the adults gather, according to the malcontent. We'll have to keep guessing. AzBob, don't keep us in suspense! Where can the adults like you and Crack Rat go to have intelligent discussions? Like Junior 44 alluded to a few nights ago, personal responsibility is the key. Blaming everybody else will get you nowhere, AzBob.

posted by the amazing kreskin...ummm... azbob at bettorsworld. Sounds familiar, except in this case he blames them for wasting time feuding with other sites and he blames jack for a contest..at some point azbob should stop expecting people to hold his hand. There was no deceit involved in either case... What about Bob??

Someone might consider that if this site wasn't involved in childish games with other sites that, perhaps, the player might get the information he needs in a timely manner to avoid losing hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

Also, maybe instead of a bunch of hucksters taking up space there might actually be important information exchanged regarding the status of some of the offshores...not to mention insights on the games.

I could always recommend any book on "the list" but, no more. No one can predict this type of demise (or can they?) but, there's a line to be drawn between supporting advertisers and protecting the players.

Check out how many threads and words were devoted to blasting other sites and other people that no one cares about except for a dopey few.

That attention should have been focused on this situation. Watchdog huh?
