Just think about the things Texas did to help Bama.
1) Gideon picking off the punt actually cost them close to 20 yards in field had he just batted it down.
2) TD erased on illegal formation then should have ran it on 3rd from the 1 with Gilbert in the game.
3) Get a gift turnover and go nowhere and get 3.
4) When pinned before half up 14-3 just need 1 first down to chew some clock and might get out of half 14-3.
5) The foolish play call before the half costs them

You could take the exact opposite and say look at what Bama did to help Texas:
Turned the ball over the first 2 series, fake punt int and onside kick.
Another onside kick/fumble recovered by Texas but Texas couldn't capitalize regardless of who was under center.

Bama did have a few early miscues and the defense held them out but having a true frosh at QB aided the defense.
The 2nd so called onside kick was just bad luck the kicker hammered it and it hit a guy who had no chance to get out of the way.
Texas shot themselves in the foot more than I even mentioned.
Like the dropped TD pass in the 1stH.
And nobody is even talking about the biggest one of all.

The dagger sack/fumble play. Texas empties the backfield and has no TE to help protect the true freshman QB from the blindside and the left side of the line did a terrible job on the play to boot.
Texas coaching staff was there own worst enemy at times in this game.
