Bason 2019-2020 Season

Starting a new thread for the start of the season.

Already put a German Cup game in this morning and want to pose before the line goes up:

Dortmund -3 -140 - They should beat this team bad if they come to play. Uerdingen is a 3rd division team and they are playing in Dusseldorf.

Still working on the rest.

I tend to take it easy in the first week since it is tough to tell how teams will react to the start of the season. Just like the NFL, you can not take much from preseason play.

Liverpool/Norwich BTTS +140 - On paper, Liverpool should easily take care of Norwich, but I just do not trust them to win by more than 2 goals. I liked the total Ov 3.5 but I think you get better value in the BTTS bet since the over line is telling you Liverpool may beat them bad or Norwich will score. I think Norwich can get one in this game, so I like the value of the +140 for BTTS.

Monaco Ov 2.5 -120 - Monaco had a bad season last year, so they are looking to start this year off right. Lyon has been terrible in pre-season so not sure how they will play, but they can score. Was tempted to take Monaco, but I will go with goals as I see a 2-1 game either way.

Yeah, but I will take it. I tried to post the second half on Dortmund -1.5 but never hit send as I was scrambling to get it in. Monaco is in some more trouble this year. They will struggle to stay up. Norwich is looking like an over team for sure this year. They can score and have some issues in the back.


Watford -108 - My only premier league play for tomorrow. I think this line should be at least -130 or more. B&H is a terrible road team that can not score. They have not scored in 5 of their last 7 games against Watford. I see nothing but a home win for Watford.

And this is why I never bet big money on the first weekend. Just a horrendous game for Watford. Their coach goes on the hot seat right away. Giving up 3 goals at home to B&H is just pathetic. That is almost 10% of their total goal scoring last year!!

Gone back and forth on this game, but this is what I am playing:

Man U/Chelsea BTTS -135 - Like I said I have gone back and forth on this one. Chelsea looks like the weaker side and have not won at Man U in some time and they struggled on the road last year. Initially I was all over Man U, but I thought this line would be -125 or so. Man U worked hard on strengthening their back line but I think they need some time to get it together, so I think Chelsea will score and I am going with BTTS.

The English Cups are definitely not my specialty but one game caught my eye:

Lincoln City +1 +110 - This is simply a play against Huddersfield. They do not win very often so I will take the goal.

Man, Huddersfield sucks. Going to be playing against them a lot this year.

UEFA Super Cup

The timing of this game and location is rather ridiculous. Both teams open up the season and now have to go to Turkey to play this game. I really can not imagine that either team is excited about this game. On paper, this game look like an easy Liverpool win and I imagine that a lot of people with be on them simply based on the results of last week's games. I am not one of them. I have to think this game means much more to Chelsea after last week and another beat down would be very bad for them. Their game last week could also have been a lot different if they would have scored in the FH after hitting the post twice and dominating early play. I also have to think that Klopp may sit a couple players, but even if he doesn't, I think Chelsea will be in this game. Going agains the grain on this one:

Chelsea +1 -115

The +1 is the safe bet but I will likely add some to the ML once I see how it moves overnight.

Okay, I am going to say it and I really do not care about being politically correct. Women refs are not suited for the top mens games. If you watched the Women's WC you saw the obvious difference in the speed of the game so they struggle to keep up with the speed of the men which causes them to be out of position for a lot of calls. Today, they missed multiple out of bounds and corner calls as well as foul calls because they were out of position. Not to mention that the penalty call should have been a yellow for a flop. And then VAR proves useless as they do not want to show her up. That was certainly not a penalty. Sorry, I am all for equal rights etc., but there is no need for women referees for elite mens games.

Very busy weekend coming so I am skipping Euro crap for tomorrow and doing my initial review of the leagues. This one caught my eye for Saturday and I am playing it today:

Real Madrid Ov 3 -130 - Surprised to see 3 on this game so I jumped on it. The last 10 games between these two teams have produced 45 goals. 5 of the last 6 have gone Ov 3.5 and the last year's game was 4-2 Real. That is a lot of support for an Over 3 play so I am taking the tempting number right now. I am still not a big believer in Real right now as they still appear to be a bit of a mess as they have trouble in the back so Vigo should score in this game. Also not a big believer in Zidane. Easy to coach when your team is loaded but not so easy now. We will see, but I think he struggles.

Keeping a close eye on Brighton and Norwich lines in Premier as I am liking both home teams right now. Brighton looked better than ever last week and have owned West Ham who looked terrible last week. I was impressed with Norwich offensively last week despite getting killed.

Opening of Bundesliga also and I will likely have a play up tomorrow for the Bayern game Friday since I have to bet opening night!! A couple of nice plays are also shaping up for Saturday, I just want to watch the lines.

Put this in today for Saturday in the Premier League:

Brighton & Hove Pk-125 - I liked how B&H looked last week on the road and I usually only bet them at home. West Ham on the other hand looked terrible last week, especially in the back. Final factor for me is that B&H has won 3 of the last 4 against West Ham. Last year they won 1-0 at home. I think they win this game and will be using the +145 in a parlay or two, but my bigger straight bet is simply to take them in a Pk as I do not see them losing this game.

Friday in Germany

Bayern/Berlin BTTS and Ov 3.5 -110 - Bayern's moves in the off season focused on the back line, but I still think they will have some issue against the better attacking teams. They did not look so great in the Super Cup and Berlin tends to play them well, so I think they get a goal or two today to send this one over and BTTS overs good value.

Hamburg Ov 3 +110 - Value in this line is created by last year's draws, but I think we should see some goals today. Hamburg is a big favorite and see no value at all in them, but Bochum is an attacking team and I think they will score at least one.

Lean to the draw in the Nurnberg game and will likely use that in a parlay with Fulham in a Pk if I can get it. Have to continue to play against Huddersfield until they win a game.

Orenburg in Russia may be worth a look, especially at at Pk, since Sochi has not scored in their first five games!! Neither team has won a game and they both sit in relegation, but Sochi is actually ahead since they have two 0-0 draws.

Brugge Ov 3.5 is also worth a look given the history between these two. Brugge could go over themselves.

Easy Bayern win on both bets. Hamburg game was simply terrible. I will not be posting many more plays in Bundesliga 2, but will be playing some so just ask if you want an opinion on a game.

And Huddersfield sucks. They are going to struggle to stay up in the Championship.
