Between Green Bay and Iowa City
SUNDAY:

Lots of sparkling pairings in today's later tee times.

Scott(-125) over Clarke for 1* @ 5dimes

Rose(-115) over Johnson for 1* @ 5dimes

I think the days are numbered for this season in which Adam Scott will be rated at 50/1 before they hand out the examination papers in the four majors.

Tee- Ball Florida Style...

Tee- Ball Florida Style...

Going lite today, after the debacle of my last post [0-5] , very ugly indeed...

1. Rod Pampling -120 over Lowery [1 unit]

A low ball hitter vs. a high ball hitter - I am hoping for some wind...

2. Couples -110 over Johnson

Freddy has the game for this difficult course...

Good luck...

Boy am I kicking myself. I loaded up on Campbell on the interactives only to sell him back after round three. Appleby normally does not falter on Sunday when in contention otherwise I would have let it ride. Ugh. Did put a good amount on Campbell +125 during the 4th round but I just missed out on what would have been my biggest hit. :D

Perhaps he can carry his form to a Masters title?

Nice call again LIA :D

Outrights - Final update: 1-2; +12.00pts

Love 31st
Goosen mc
Verplank 3rd

One of the toughest finishes on the PGA Tour and Verplank was 3-under-par for the stretch to complete a very impressive steal of a top-5 place. The other two were disappointing, but a welcome good return on this Tour.

Matchups - Final update: 5-3-0; +4.52pts

Allenby/Garcia LOST by 7
Goosen/Garcia LOST by 6
Scott/Baddeley WON by 12
Triplett/Baddeley WON by 3
Triplett/Sabbatini WON by 7
Lonard/Hamilton LOST by 8
Waldorf/Hoch WON by 4
Maggert/Poulter WON by 4

Decent profit on tie matchups which have been a concern on this Tour so far in 2004. Only opposing Garcia was a poor decision.

PGA Tour ytd
Matchups: 5-28; -19.85pts
Outrights: 32-32; -14.58pts

All Tours ytd
Matchups: 21-87; +42.81pts
Outrights: 107-93; -0.07pts

Today qualifies as ridiculous, coming on the heels of a big payday last week.

For starters: After a review of my first two seasons, I went into this golf season with one guiding principle in the outrights, and that was to make fewer plays before the event starts, and make more plays in-running. There were simply too many times in a field of 150 or so golfers that I was kicking myself over a play I would never have made based on something that came out PDQ after the proceedings began, while picking up all sorts of useful stuff early on about players I was leaning toward but lacked something decisive to really hang my hat on. Already this year I've hit Mickelson(14/1) at the Bob Hope and Montgomerie(14/1) in Singapore, on just a handful of in-running plays, which is exactly what I had in mind . . . In addition, my most disappointing no-play from last year was failing to pull the trigger on Westwood(66/1) at the BMW, when I knew his time was close and the opportunity was right after just getting back from the States, and then I went and compounded the error and dropped the ball again when Westwood, after basking in the glow of celebration with Clarke after his simultaneous win at Firestone, rolled and romped along at 50/1 to win the Dunhill Links in his first event thereafter back in Great Britain, with his manager as his partner, no less. To borrow a phrase from Roberto DeVicenco, "What a stupid I am!" Hands down those rate No. 1 and No. 1(A) as my two biggest misses from last year, along with taking Levet(50/1) rather than Bjorn(50/1) in-running during the second round of The Open, but then again, Bjorn forgot to win. I wanted that Westwood moment, and not getting it made me want even more to be leading the parade when Monty and Mickelson emerged from their wilderness (and the same with Faldo and Van de Velde, if their time comes), so Monty this morning gave me a ride that felt a lot richer than 14/1.

Then along comes Chad Campbell this afternoon, with an assist from Arnie. Incredible. That one feels like it has my name on it.

The day isn't over. My efforts on the two main tours have left me with almost no time for the Champions Tour, and since Stan has been in a groove there, I coattailed all his picks, and Tom Purtzer(20/1) of all folks finds redemption at the end. And for once I knew better than to speak up and jinx it . . . And I have a long, long way to go with the ladies, but that didn't stop me from coattailing the forum with Mi-Hyun Kim and Lorena Ochoa(40/1), and kind-of threatening a sweep of all the events before earning a tie for third.

Oh, yeah. For about 12 days I've had the right touch in managing my funds while coattailing Hellah's friend in the basketball forum. Just shaking my head in disbelief on that one, too.

O.K. That's it. Ridiculous. And I needed all that just to stay ahead of the curve that was being set in the forum this week. ;)

I'm off to go buy about four lottery tickets.

Hi Guys
One Outright play for me this week on:STUART APPLEBY
1 Unit E/W @ 50-1 [Generally available at 1/4 12345]

Hasnt played well here the last few seasons, but was 2nd in 1997.
That year like this he had won earlier, and his game particularly driving and iron striking look in good shape, and both are needed here to be A1.
With fellow Aussies Parry and Allenby already playing well the first couple weeks of the Florida Swing,Im reasonably hopeful that Appleby will join in the fun at Bay Hill:)
Good Luck

Result
2nd
Profit:11.50u

Disappointing he couldnt hold on to a 4 shot final round lead though:shrug:

What about ya LIA:D Nice Job--and nice rounded performance by Stan on all tours.:thumb: I think the ncaa may have contributed to some very week lines out there this week on in running matches especially. Don't think you you errored fading Garcia Stan-who would have thought Els-Goose and Allenby would miss cut.Garcia continues to be a gold mine on 4th round fades.
Final round at LPGA is good one to reference for wind. 25-30 all day. Was curious to see what Wie would do after her comment in PGA Hawaii event stating she hoped wind blew hard--as it suited her game-NOT thankfully:)
