but seriously, I think we can safely go back to at least 1980 and say that this is easily the worst team to make the conference finals since then - I'm sure we can go back a good bit past that as well

True. I began following in the 80's and 80's/90's were fun without even placing wagers. OKC and Cavs is my prediction here.

Cavs had a bye into the Championship series. The remainder of the East is shameful. The NBA, like MLB, is so watered down, they should really lower ticket prices to better reflect the quality of the entertainment.

I'm just not blinded. At some point you need to quit being a hater and give respect.
These are NBA teams and they're completely throttling them no matter where the game is being played.
If it were Golden State...aka the Rockets series, you'd be praising them. Cleveland has throttled 3 teams who would've either swept, or won in 5 games just like the Warriors did to a piss poor Rockets team. A team the Warriors lost to. Let's not use the "Curry didn't play" excuse. Because you guys are the same people who nuthug and chest thump the Warriors roster when it's convenient for your argument.

I constantly pay respect and admit the Cavs likely lose to a healthy Warriors team(although the focus Cleveland is playing with has caused me to think their chances have sky rocketed) yet the LeBron haters just make excuses lol

It's a sweep for sure... worst team ever. Also, Cavs might win it by the way... Lebron and company are ready to win it vs whomever. I personally like Cavs right now. They are solid! Might be small, but sharp money is on them.

Spurs in 2001 lost by a combined 89 points in the WCF. The Cavs aren't going to break that record. But we also won't have anyone try to prove Toronto is THAT bad, rather just make falicy statements....ironic how that works

I'm sure that 2001 team with Duncan, Robinson, Sean Elliot etc would really struggle with this Raptors squad......
Watt get off it - this year's EC playoff contingent is one of the worst in league history- not saying the Cavs aren't good and not proclaiming that they won't win it all but there has never been an easier road to the finals and there has not been, for the past 35-40 years at least, a team that was as bad as the Raptors in the ECF - period
and let's face it, the West was down too - it is a league thing not just a EC thing
but the East was bad, historically bad, especially after the Heat and Raptors suffered injuries that made them even worse - please don't point to the records of EC teams as an argument that the East was good because it wasn't

Nobody is arguing the EC isn't that good. I don't think anyone here has tried to put the argument up that the EC is amazing or anything. But at the same time, you have to give respect to the team who's dominating.

Cavs are playing great ball right now...against a bunch of AAU teams....Will be a different story when they play the Warriors in the finals....you don't really think OKC can win 4 games against them do you?
as for worst team ever to play in a Conference finals, well this year's Raptors are without their big man, who means a lot to them....Imagine taking Dwight Howard off the 2009 Orlando magic and see how they'd stack up. Not making any excuses for them because even with Jonas V, they likely get swept by a Cavs team that's rolling pretty strong right now....But the Cavs won't be shooting threes with the alarming accuracy they have been against east coast teams when they reach the finals...
talk is cheap, proof is in the pudding....think this year's finals are gonna be great and the Cavs (with the best player in the world) have a legit shot at beating the Warriors (the best TEAM in the world). But they won't. Dubs take the crown in 6:00hour

Lets worry about the Warriors getting there first. We already know Cleveland will be there :00hour
The Warriors won't be able to pack the paint this year and make the Cavs try and win with Delladova and JR. Kyrie and LeBron are probably going to have a field day against that Warriors interior with Love hanging out on the 3 point line.
