Only the Konrad/ Grove line is out. Grove is almost 40 and while he has good power on his feet he is going to be on his back. His only chance is to land strikes at the beginning of each round. This is a no play for me.

Waiting for the Wallhead/ Thomas line to come out

Took Wallhead at 1.51 at Bookmaker. I think he can control the fight against Thomas and take a decision

Good job GW:0074 . Wonder if the use of elbows will make Konrad more aggressive in his ground and pound. The first round and semi-finals these were not allowed

The fighters are making their way to the cage. Both look to be in top condition.

Rd 1

Both fighters open using kicks to find their distance. They trade kicks, and Makovsky catches a leg and finishes the takedown. West is employing a high, and tight, closed guard. Makovsky works some shots to the ribs from the top and West elbows to Makovsky?s shoulders. They both scramble to their feet. West is trying to find a home for a high kick, and is looking to exploit his reach advantage. Makovsky ducks under a punch and gets another takedown. However, he is unable to mount much offense. West is doing to good job of tying Makovsky up, and is able to work back to his feet. West gets a knockdown as the round comes to an end.

Replaymma.com scores Rd 1 10-9 for Ed West
