For those that layed the wood on Berto - where is your head?

If I were Romi or Ghost Kid or any other Berto backer, my reply would be: "in your momma's fat pussy, bitch!"

Insulting people's picks is lame, especially AFTER the result. There's nothing to be gained by doing so, and you're making a habit of it.

Lighten up, Francis. No insult intended.

appreciate the support guys
I don't take offense to anything and usually turn the other cheek...

I did not lay the wood here on Berto-as you can read by my posts (posted BEFORE all the fights) I parlayed him to Murray, parlayed him to Pozo, and parlayed him to Murray and Alekseev. So 2 out of 3 parlays hit.

Playing this fight, you could see it one of two ways. i thought Berto would steam-roll him and I was wrong. NJ-you called the fight a lot cleaner than I did, and you gave great thoughts prior to the fight. props to you my man.

You always have to take into account, going to the cards, where the fight is and who the promoter (and HBO) back. As NJ predicted, Berto was going to get any benefit of the doubt last night.

That being said, Kramden is a great asset to the board and hopefully he continues to post-prior to the fights and afterwards.

Sorry the doggy didn't hit for you guys. Damn close. Seems like most everyone (besides me) had a winning weekend anyways.

So we're all good, right?

thx ghost and sponge, i saw your post in the other thread, and appreciate the mention. i wasn't sure if collazo could exploit berto's flaws effectively, but they were glaring in the pre-fight workout vid.

i had to google 'lighten up francis' to get the reference, i've seen about 50% of stripes, it was great. it's one of those slapstick comedies that are hilarious until the plot kicks in.

my point is we shouldn't do anything to discourage people from posting or joining the forum, and post-fight gloating is one of those things.

All good fellas....all good
BTW just checked my tabs from yesterday
Had the following parlay:

Rua
Palhares
Kampmann
Drwai
John Murray
Berto
Alekseev

What I wouldn't give to take that last name out of there. Would have payed about 450 bucks.

But as a good boxing buddy of mine always reminds me- hitting 6 out 7 or 1 out of 7 is the same thing. A losing ticket.

If one excludes the promotion, this was a highly winnable fight for Collazo and Kramden is right to remind it to the board, even though he didn't allude to it before the event.

The odds for Berto were way, way off.

The right play was the over.

I took NO offense to Kramdens comments. I made 2k this week. He's got his style and i have mine. His works for him and vice versa. He's a good capper and i like his posts. I mentioned to Punch that I took Menzer @ -1300 to win 120. I know most think that's absolutely crazy but as far as I'm concerned, it was easy money and honest to God, I didn't sweat it one iota. I think there is a place for favorites, dogs, overs and unders. The name of the game is to make $$$ so whatever works. It's never what somebody does in 1 week or 2 or 3...it's over the course of a yr that matters and I've honestly never been in the red over the course of a yr. 2 or 3 in here know what I've made in the last 2 yrs so I don't really need to defend ANY plays. I've made more than many take home on their regular jobs. My worst yr in 8 yrs was +2500.00 and that was indeed a bad yr. I have no issue posting my big losses as many have seen...4000.oo on williams v quintana....7500 on soto v lorenzo...3500 on hop v pav...just to name 3. Those were all chalk plays and I got stung...so what. I came back from all and showed nice profits within a few weeks and had my 2nd best yr. J Cortez kept me from having my best yr in the soto debacle but that's part of the sport. I don't dwell on the inherit shit this sport is so full of. I'm confident enough in my plays that I know I'll show a good profit at the yrs end. I NEVER wager what I'm not willing to part with. This is THE best racket I know of. Let's enjoy while we can cause big brother isn't going to allow this forever.

Come to think of it my questioning of Berto backers, however well meaning, was out of place. Everyone here are lucid adults that recognize the consequences of their actions. And everyone has their own personal wagering style and it's simply that - personal. Sorry guys.

no apology necessary Kramden
Romi, I wish I had talked to you before the German card
Menzer was the parlayable fight, not Alekseev
and the odds were exactly the same
I REALLY blew it there

glad to hear you did well this weekend....I was a few bad plays away from a solid weekend
(Alekseev, McGirt by decision)

BTW I thought McGirt won....but he fought like a twat and cried like a weenie afterwards....he and his father are an embarrassment...they both had looks on there faces like "how could you do this to the Mcgirts?"
time for the kid to find a new line of work....

This is the most important rule of gambling in my opinion.
:toast: :toast: :toast:

It really is Wee and it goes along with not letting emotion play a part. I was REALLY pissed at the Cortez call last summer but I simply let it go. I offered Punchy a few bucks to kick the guy in the nuts if he saw him around vegas. I set a goal to win that dough back by the end of aug and I made it about 2 wks early. Many would try and get it back right away and they'd end up in deep shit. If I lose a big one, (and I'm certain to at some pt in the future) I just put it in conserve mode til I recoup the losses.

I have A LOT of dough on Margo. Should Mos reclaim his youth and pull the upset then it will be be small potatoes for a little while. I'm looking to hedge w/Mos by dec JUST IN CASE.

"the bunker"
i just realized that by making an offhanded comment i started the betting large fave`s discussion...

it was an offhand comment that was made without forethought..certainly wasn`t intended to be malicious......and it certainily wasn`t warranted....it just didn`t come out quite as i had intended....

i`m tighter than joan rivers` face when it comes to laying big odds, but that`s me...i`m sure i`ve missed out on some easy money because i`m so frugal....and i`m probably still smarting from the dlh debacle...

i was unintentionally out of line...and i apologize for being presumptuous.... and forgetting that everyone has their own style and method...

haven`t been sleeping very well and am a little off kilter...

well,whatever..it all seems to come together quite nicely in here and the diversity of opinion is probably why this board is successful more times that not...

it was a solid weekend...lets keep it going...
