According to Madjackers, what were the top 5 conferences for the year 2003??? Winner will bad MadJack Conference Champ. we will do it on a point system as well...first place 5 pts, second place 4pts, etc, etc.......


1) SEC
2) ACC
3) Big 12
4) Pac 10
5) MAC

Huge Sooner fan, but the big 12 was just not good this year...so here is my list kdogg

2. ACC (due to bowl season)
3. PAC 10
4. MAC

Still not convinced by Scott's messages that this conference isn't the toughest from top to bottom...just impressive to me that LSU got thru that test with only one loss...and beat Georgia twice....just my opinion.

I don't respect the big 12 as a whole. The conference as a whole is a joke in my opinion.

When your ranking your top 5 conferences, you have to look from top to bottom. I think many of you fail to do this. A conference = TOP to BOTTOM. Do not just look at the top 3 teams and their succuss. There is no way the MAC is better than the 6 BCS conferences. NO WAY! If you think so, i would "LOVE" to read why. I just showed how silly it was to put the MAC ahead of the BIG 10. I can do the same with Big 12 and Big East. Come on people, think before you type. I know everyone likes to cheer for the smaller conferences, but that does not mean they are better.

Now if this thread was about ranking each conference by just using the top 3 teams, then you "might" have an argument for putting MAC in the top 5.

Last thing for all of you to look at. Here are the top 3 teams in the MAC and their SOS. I think you will be shocked how embarrassing these SOS are. No wonder they racked up so many wins and blowing out their opponents.

I respect the MAC as they have some quality teams that alot of bigger names don't want to face on the road. The MAC has made major strides compared to most conferences. I don't feel anyone can argue that. Look at some of the quality teams the MAC has beaten over the last few years:

Cincinnati
Colorado State
Northwestern
Kansas State
BYU
Clemson
Purdue
Missouri
Alabama
Maryland
Pittsburgh
Minnesota
Penn State
Iowa


The list above is just some of the teams the conference has defeated in the last 5 years. They have defeated teams from major conferences such as the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC as well as some bigger mid major conferences like Conference USA & the Mountain West. They did these things with much less talent & resources then the big boys have to play with & this is a fact. I respect this conference for not being afraid to play anyone at any place & I won't let the biased views of anyone else convince me otherwise.

to be honest... i wish my list was a little closer to Doc's list than my own...but in all actuallity...i just went off the list that kdogg listed....if i had actually had thought about it...i would have put big 10 at 2...and dropped big 12 out of it...honestly, mac has to put up a fight with big 12 this year...who knows though???

Without question the BCS conferences are stronger than the MAC but I would argue that these 2 conferences are also better than the MAC.

That is the definition of ignorance. Why not try and educate someone and explain why the MAC deserves to be ahead of the Big East, Big 10, Big 12 conferences. Nobody in their right mind could argue these as the top 5 conferences in football. I simply challenged anyone to tell me why the MAC deserves to be in the top 5. As of now, everyone has stepped down from that challenge. I wonder why? I believe I have succussfuly proven that the MAC does not belong ahead of the BCS conferences. YES I was bold about it and I am sorry if I offended anyone. Instead of being offended, stand up for what you believe (mac being top 5) and prove me wrong and make me look like an idiot.
