hands down
Kobe Bryant
most clutch: Kobe Bryant
with time winding down and your down 1, 2 or 3 pts, you want the ball in Kobe's hands.
He can create his own shot, dribble penetrate, drive, shoot the three...he should have won the MVP, now he is going to stick it in Phoenix's ass and ever team they face from here on out....

Kobe and Chauncey Billups are the best clutch shooters in the league. Well, let's not forget about Robert "Big Shot Bob" Horry either. Yes, Kobe is the best player, period!

i disagree, i think Nash is better than Kobe and I think Lebron is Better than Kobe at EVERYTHING, except maybe for the raping part, kobe is pretty good at that!

Kobe is playing "team ball"? Just cause he is scoring low 20s doesnt mean he is being unselfish. Half is passes are lazy behind the back passes. Kobe has 7 turnovers in game verses suns. Kobe shoots like 25 shots and has 24 points. Yes Kobe is ridiculously clutch, but so is lebron James. But Kobe was a goddamn liability to lakers until it comes to hitting big shot.
Kobe isnt even best player on the Lakers, refs are!!!!!!

Y dont i see anybody agreeing that Kobe is greatest player in the game no more? You mean Lakers have an off night and Kobe isnt the best player in the league?
I think all players should model their games after stand up Kobe, when he gets knocked down he stays down and then makes faces walking away from the guy.
Or when the refs dont call a foul for something they did to Nash in the previous game, he screams in the refs ear and points finger in his face and gets kicked out because of his 2nd T.

Oh is only all players in the league could get two techs like Kobe.

Kid has an ass load of talent, but he is a punk and always will be a little immature punk. One of the true classless guys in the NBA, after watching this game tell me Nash isnt MVP and Lebron just outshines Kobe in every aspect?!?!?

would love to see phil and kobe blow this, but IF Bell has to sit, it makes their job significantly easier as we all know ... does Kobe possess the most athletic, high rising J and overwhelming ability? yes ... does he make his team better than nash does? never ... Kobe's biggest crime as Magic has said many times, was chasing Shaq off ...

have seen lebron play night in and out for the last 3 seasons and 240+ games, not counting all his high school ones as well.

he is so much better than most even realize. it seems like only half a season ago that some were convincing themselves that carmelo was a better player than lebron, which is completely laughable. that being said, he (lebron) is still a ways away from kobe, as kobe is hands down the best player in the game. he is the only player i would rather start a team with than lebron.

Everyone seems to forget about Dirk or Tim Duncan. I guess you have to be a crimminal or a up a coming player to get noticed.
Tim has won multiply titles and just quietly plays team ball and is
a total winner. Dirk is the same type of player, granted he hasn't
taken his team to a championship game but never the less, he would have to be considered in this conversation.

I guess both players have to start whining and getting a bunch
of T so they can get noticed. Maybe they need to take a vacation
in Colorado, LOL, than they can get the media attention they deserve. Or maybe they just need to move to LA or NY, this
is the only place ESPN's trucks stay parked, LOL>

By no means am I knocking Lebron or Kobe, both these guys are great players they deserve what they get. I'm just tired of everyone asking who the Jordan will be. What about Tim Duncan,
hasn't he done everything Jordan has done?

Duncan hasn't won 6 Championships like Jordan... Tim Duncan was the best player in the NBA the last few years. But age is starting to hang it's heavy hand on Duncan. He doesn't dominate games like Duncan in the past. Plus, he has a better supporting cast with Ginobili and Parker than Lebron or Kobe

Shaq is not the same player he use to be, it was time for the Lakers to move in a new direction. Shaq and Kobe never would have won another championship together.

Nash is a great "team" player. But right now Kobe is taking his team with less talent and beating the Suns. If Kobe continues to draw the double and triple team and kick it out to his teamates instead of shooting it. The Lakers have a decent chance of making the Western Finals. But we shall see...

Was on the Suns last night

this series is far from over

esp if Phil the "genius" decides again to get into a run and gun game with the Suns as he did last night

If I didn't know better, I think he allowed that to happen so they would get their asses handed to them and he could get their attention for the rest of the series.

Everyone seems to think Koby is there taken one for the team while the talent around him improves. Four things may happen if/when something does come of the youth around him....

-Phil doesn't see this process through and bolts back to the waters off Australia, leaving Koby and the Lakers organization to aclimate themselves to another brain trust. He doesn't need it.

-The talent and ability of the youth improves greatly and in doing so will be looking for a PAY DAY which may be a bit difficult with the existing salaries being paid including one Koby Bryant and the SALARY CAP that exists in the NBA.

-Koby's c o c k gets hungry and he bolts his gorgeous wife and kids for another young pristine piece of white tail

All you Laker lovers out there (Freelance) methinks another one of my local YOUNG teams with a far BETTER COACH will make the promise land long before Koby sees it. I wouldn't be holding my breath.

As far as Duncan and Dirk, Duncan won't/can't step up and take over a game. He can't hit clutch free throws or clutch shots and wants no part of either. Dirk is a flat out stud that has forgotten more about team ball than Koby will ever know.

phx other than Marion has whom? i heard 6 players had career years for suns this year ... bell, diaw et al? they were drafted where in relation to Odom and Kwame? Nash has won b2b MVPs, Kobe has zero ... I guess its a vast conspiracy or favoring canadians... And yes Shaq isn't what he was but Lakers with him LY prob would have made playoffs ;) ...

anyhow, Magic watches this team day in day out, and its his vehement statement that Kobe chased him and I happen to agree b/c Magic is old school and believes in teams.

Isnt Nash playing minus thomas and amare, and far succeeded their projected win total--I dont think KOBE did likewise on expectation level for 2005/06

Who cares where people got drafted... Gilbert Arenas and Giniobili were drafted in the second round. Kwame has sucked his first few years in the league and L. Odom has always underachieved. Boris Diaw is an absolute STUD and is better than anyone besides Odom on the Lakers.

I don't know if Shaq could have carried this team to the playoffs. Kobe was injured a lot last year and that had to do with some of the problems. Too me Shaq looks lazy and tired. Phoenix has more overall talent than the Lakers. Not one organization in the league would trade S. Marion and B. Diaw for L. Odom and K. Brown. Who cares if Nash has won back to back MVPs... Hasn't Shaq only won ONE. Is Nash better than Shaq. Those awards are voted on by the media. I bet most of the players would want to face Nash than Kobe. But who cares its all speculation and personal theories.
