No. It is often not obvious. Just take profits as you go, protect your BTC stack, and don't get too deep into bags of pump coins. If you have something decent you can wait for it to pop back up.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm 100% alts right now. You've given me things to consider.

There are people that are 100% (or near) all the time. It's the most aggressive strategy. Realizing your profits is important though and will allow you to capitalize on alts again when bitcoin legs up. If you have not realized the profits you won't have the BTC to redistribute. Instead you will be waiting for the bags you had previously to pop back up. Make sense?

Well my thinking is that I want to ride some alts for the big pop and then convert to BTC to reinvest is lower priced alts. I just feel like there is more profit to make on my alts short term (MTL, LEND, LINK, DBC, VEN). The question is when to cash out.

It all depends at what you got in at.

For me, MTL is certainly not a sell, it has not popped off and is looking good.

If things have gone 5x for you, I think selling at least your original stake is a good idea.

Thanks for taking the time. I just read that post of yours 3 times and am gaining an understanding. I'll read it some more until it clicks in this old brain.

Thanks again. :0008

This is what happens when the corn moves. If you have been skimming profits on way up you can now buy other alts cheap, rebuy the alts you have, or just sit with the btc.

If you haven't sold any profits now you are just compounding the problem and selling the dip so best to just take lumps and wait it out.

There is a balance between milking the alt cow and getting greedy. I knew all along a good percentage of my btc would be sliding back. You just need to mentally prepare for that and have made the right set up for when it happens. Now just have to wait for the alt bounce.

I thought about taking some LEND profits but didn't. It would have been nice to sell some off it's high today but it didn't take a bad hit and seems to be recovering nicely.

Thanks for your tips.

I took some profits but it never seems like enough when the dip happens. The most important thing is that if you are late on selling profits that you just sit tight. Otherwise you compound the problem by selling the dip. Hopefully alts will bounce up a bit for us here.

No one is perfect with this sort of timing.

No problem. This took me a while to figure out. Learned the hard way.

Another caveat of course is if u love a coin u can always sell them buy back the dip and increase your original stake!

I learned the hard way as well. Last spring when alts pumped I worked them to 17BTC. Held them and they leaked all the way back down to less than 3BTC. Not this time baby. Securing Btc along the way. Live and learn

Thanks for the post but I'm not following. What do you mean "but for goodness sake get out some BTC"?

I'll give you a real life example and you tell me what you would do.

A week or maybe 2 ago I bought 100,600 LEND for $7146. The value now, as I type, is $23,993. $16,800 profit or 230% gain or close. What exactly would you do with this token?

TIA

Love ot when you listen and follow through. Almoat as good as video poker.

I passed on this one but wish you profits in yoir trades. :toast:

TEEKA TIWARI OF PALM BEACH CONFIDENTIAL was spotted at a Sunny Lu blockchain presentation. If VeChain is on the PBC letter we will 2x or more the day of PBC letter release.

Even bigger news IMO , The significance of Jim Breyer Capital.
Long read. Please read thru the comments too.

So Cal
The way you're talking makes me wanna dump some other coins to add more VEN/VET. Sounds like top 5 MC would mean another 25X from here?

IMO VeChain is still at the basement floor.
Over the last few weeks ive finally convinced a few of my family members to buy into VET and get enough for a strength nodes.
