I absolulely love Ncaa football........yet, with 165K deaths and no real signs of a big recession in cases. I ask, is it really worth the loss of ONE life to have college football? These kids are not getting paid, as far as we know
I have a lot less years in front of me than behind me  maybe my take on this may be different?
These guys have the rest of their lives and would be a damn shame to lose one kid to this virus.......These coaches are not getting younger, I think as the season would progress the older coaches would be in harms way, Games would be over then.......If you have ever played and been in a locker room, it would be impossible to social distance, period!!! JMO :0008

But what about all the assistants to the assistant to the assistant AD that might get laid off? LA Burns is really worried about those guys. Can't we sacrifice a few college kids for them?

Looks like Big 12 gonna give it a shot

Looks like Big 12 gonna give it a shot

"The Big 12 is pushing the chips in on college football this fall ? for now. The conference just announced it is proceeding with plans for the season, confirming last night?s report. They also released a schedule, a 9+1 model that includes one non-conference game and a September 26 start, the same as the SEC.?"

So it looks like we could have 3 conferences (Big 12, SEC, and ACC), that' plenty enough to keep us occupied, with NFL...then maybe the other conferences in the Spring?

Looks to be breaking along the Mason-Dixon line, except the ACC, which is mostly southern with a few northern schools. If BC, Pitt, and Syracuse all individually opt out - then it truly will be.

B10 swatted down Nebraska's idea to go join another conference for this season only. I would think that they would accept that and not jeopardize their position in the conference long-term, but crazier things have happened.

Won't be surprised to have college bball cancelled, but surprised that the Pac-12 announced it this early. I didn't think that sport really ramped up until October so I would have thought they'd have 6-8 weeks before needing to make that call.

look, we get that you and people of your ilk don?t want cfb to happen, and your comments make it clear that you have little to no sympathy for the people that cancellation would affect in a very negative manner - but ?sacrifice a few kids?? even you can?t be that stupid.....

in louisiana, who owns the 6th worst covid death per capita rate in the nation, there have been 29,481 documented cases of cv in people between the ages of 18-29 - now we all obviously know that we should multiply that case number by at least 10-20x to get an accurate figure, so on the low end we would estimate there have been around 300k cases in that age range in the state - of those 300k cases a whopping 19 have resulted in fatalities

now we also know that anytime someone has died for for any reason over the past 6 months and they test positive for cv at time of passing, they are listed as a covid death regardless of the actual reason they die (well, we all should know that, but sadly some of us still don?t, or pretend that they don?t, but anyway i digress) - add to that the fact that an overwhelming majority of cv fatalities are from ppl who had underlying conditions, and i would say that we might want to reduce that number down from 19 a bit since we?re dealing with healthy 18-22 y/o?s

somehow even though we know all of this, and we?ve now had athletes that now number in the multiple thousands who have contracted and subsequently gotten over the virus (with most being asymptomatic) without a single solitary fatality, wouldn?t it qualify as ?stupid? to make a statement like that?

sacrifice a few kids, yeah those healthy 18-22 year kids are really dropping like flies - you?re right, every game will likely look like the beaches of normandy.......

I want college football, I just know it isn't a smart move. Young people aren't dropping like flies, but some of them are dying. Last time I checked, most of the coaches aren't spring chickens. Why get people sick if you don't have to? Why risk losing people's lives?

I do care about people and their jobs. It's too bad people like you have downplayed the seriousness of this situation and now we're the gold standard for how not to handle a pandemic. People like you are the problem. Selfish and arrogant.

Conservative states save college football

Nuff said

Liberals ruin everything. There is absolutely no reason football shouldn?t be played. They say they?re so worried about a player getting sick but they?re totally okay with young people out on the streets rioting, looting, and destroying shit. Liberalism is a mental disorder

ORRRRR, maybe the smart people realize that until we have a vaccine, we have to find a way to suppress the spread or this will drag out indefinitely. Why is this so hard for you numbskulls to understand?
