What are you referring to with Neteller? Did they update something other than their statement yesterday to US customers which said this:

>> It is currently unclear how NETELLER, a European company, with no assets, presence or employees in the US, would be affected by this bill. Once the regulations have been written, NETELLER will have a clearer view of which companies are affected, how those companies will be expected to comply, and any possible resulting impact on NETELLER and its US facing business.

NETELLER continues to operate its business as normal. <<

Thanks, just wondering what the update is you are referring to.

Wait, wait. What risk (in detail) is my money that is currently sitting in Pinny or BETUS at? Is the concern that the law will prevent me from being able to process a withdrawl? If not, I can't see a legitimate reason to drain my funds - Pinnacle isn't closing up shop anytime soon.

My thoughts too.

I appreciate the input here, but I think out of fairness to the large user community here - everyone providing advice should deal in facts and avoid the alarmist stuff unless there is definitive proof. I've yet to see any, but could have missed it. Thanks.

Nervous - I know - I really think everything will be OK w/ Pinnacle and some of the larger offshore books...

However Pinnacle might not be able to let you w/draw to US bank accounts if they do not allow it anymore..

I cannot fathom that a company like Pinnacle, with US customers I'd imagine in the hundreds of thousands, would decide to lock its doors and screw their largest portion customers like that. Insanely premature to predict that.

Fine - but the bottom line is that I'll be able to get my funds... might be a little harder and cost us some assraping fees, but let's ease off the hysteria angle a bit.

On the course!
From Yahoo news:

We believe that this will have a very material impact on the long-term prospects of online gambling, and in particular poker," said analyst Julian Easthope at UBS. "This will lead to a rapid decline in the use of online poker sites."

PartyGaming generates about 78 percent of its revenue from the United States, while Sportingbet gets about 62 percent there.

CRACKDOWN

Shares in PartyGaming, which rakes in nearly $4 million a day from its 19 million customers, fell 57 percent by 1155 GMT.

Sportingbet, which owns sportsbook.com and ParadisePoker.com, lost 60 percent, 888 was down 33 percent and Austria's bwin.com fell 24 percent.

Bwin could be pushed to the brink, having paid heavily for Swedish online poker site Ongame earlier this year to gain access to the U.S. market, said Leopold Salcher, an analyst at Austria's RCB. "This could break their neck," he said.

Online gaming exploded in 2005 with a string of high-profile company flotations in London, which has become the industry's corporate center.

The bulk of revenue has always come from U.S. players, but the firms were located in offshore jurisdictions like Costa Rica and Antigua for fear of prosecution in the United States, where the legal status of online gaming and betting was uncertain.

Shares in Sportingbet and BETonSPORTS had already been hammered after recent arrests of senior executives on charges of illegal gambling in individual U.S. states, but investors remained hopeful online betting and gaming would not be completely banned at a federal level.

Meanwhile, big American corporations like Las Vegas-based Harrah's Entertainment Inc. were forced to sit on the sidelines as gaming money streamed out of the country.

PartyGaming said in a statement, "If the President signs the act into law, the company will suspend all real money gaming business with U.S. residents

Again:

Doesn't matter how you get your money there.......

Does anyone know if they can block IP addresses? Is there a difference between a US IP address and say a Canadian or other countries IP address?

If they can block the IP address, this will cause problems because you won't be able to get in to withdrawal your money.
