Why not just dish out just a few thousand dollars worth of free stuff for her instead?

Sobeys Canada (owned by Safeway) stepped up and gave her a 5 thousand dollar gift card, so that was nice. It took awhile but at least she got something. She isn't owed anything because legally she didn't win but at least some of the sponsors are doing the right thing and giving her cash and prizes.
