thanks walii...it's greatly appreciated.

i don't know what made me bet the under in this game........the only explanation i have is that i was heavily medicated.

eventhough it was a small bet....it still annoys me that i made such a stupid bet.

i hope that i smarten up rather quickly.

ucla -12.........

this is one of my favorite plays this bowl season.

there are a few reasons why i like ucla.......

ucla & wyoming played one common opponent...that was san diego st.at home & a week apart, with both winning & holding sdst.to 10 points.ucla scored 33 points & wyoming scored 20 points. ucla ended up with 410 total yards to wyoming?s 264 total yards.

take away the 53 points they scored at unlv in a triple ot win (wyoming was outgained by 110 yds.) & the cowboys scored 0, 13,7, & 9 in their other games away from home this year.....that averages about 7.25 pts. per game.

since dropping their opener to ok.st., ucla has averaged 32 ppg with a very balanced attack.they have rushed for more than 200 total yards in 6 games, including an incredible 424 yards vs. washingtron. their top runners, drew & white (weighs 245 lbs.), running behind an offensive line that averages out to 6'6'' & 307 lbs should have a field day vs. a small (average weight of 266 lbs) defensive line of wyoming that yields an average of 184 rushing yards per game. through the air, ucla has averaged about 230 yds. per game. they have big play receivers in bragg, perry, taylor, & a 6'6'' tight end in lewis that should over whelm wyoming's defensive backs.

we all know about ucla's poor run defense. but i don't think wyoming has the running attack to take advantage of that weakness. the cowboy's top runner, harrison averages a very mediocre 3.7 yds per rush.....against such defenses as appalachan st.,la monroe, tex. a & m, miss., col. st., etc. wyoming's qb has thrown 10 td. passes & 12 ints.

ucla is 4-1 ats as favorites & has 4 wins by 18 points or more. they are 4-0-1 ats in their last 5 vs. mountain west teams. ucla is 14-0 ats in their last 14 wins su wins away from following a su loss. wyoming is 0-9 su in it's last 9 games away from home vs. winning teams. mountain west teams, not named utah, were 0-7 su & 1-6 ats vs. pac-10 teams in 2004.

by playing 10 + dogs in pre-jan.1 bowl games between 1996-1999 you would have gone 5-0. however if you played 10 + dogs in 2000 & after you would have gone 6-8 ats, including 2-3 ats last year.

i don't think that ucla will take wyoming lightly tonight because they have something to prove. they lost last year to fresno in a bowl game & with their cross town rivals, usc playing for the national championship ucla needs a big victory to help with the recruiting & to keep the alumni happy.and i think a close win won't do it. they need to win big.

i see a 3 td win tonight.

good luck.

Bruins Can Hear The Talk
By Brian Dohn/Staff Writer

LAS VEGAS -- Two weeks ago, UCLA coach Karl Dorrell listened to Wyoming athletic director Gary Barta say the Cowboys "can't wait to beat him" in tonight's Las Vegas Bowl. Dorrell met with his team soon after and told them all about it.

A week ago, UCLA staff members put copies in every player's locker of a Wyoming newspaper story, in which San Diego State coach Tom Craft questioned UCLA's "enthusiasm" to play this game. UCLA players were livid after reading the story.

Letting the players in on the talk was done to avoid a repeat of a year ago, when Fresno State pushed UCLA around on a muddy field en route to a 17-9 victory in the Silicon Valley Football Classic.

Dorrell was asked if he thought his Bruins, nearly a two-touchdown favorite, know how badly Wyoming wants this win.

"Yes, I do," Dorrell said. "I think they do understand that, because we talked about it."

Bruins offensive lineman Steven Vieira went a step further. He admitted many teammates quit playing hard last season long before the loss to Fresno State, and he vowed it would not happen in his last collegiate game.

"I hate to say it, but I think a lot of guys checked out early last year," Vieira said. "This year is different. We finished strong. Tight game against 'SC, great game against Oregon. We finished the season strong. This is a different team. This is my last game. I want to win."

AR - nice job so far in the bowl season. Really like UCLA tonight and got the line at 12 which is now at 13 and climbing. Hopefully both of us get a winner tonight. Actually talked myself out of the OVER due to the bad weather last night. Had I played it your UNDER would have hit!

Best of luck the rest of the bowl season and good luck tonight!

"the bunker"
well, initially this one one of my favorite plays...after reading to much into every article or opinion i`ve come across,i offed a little less than i was going to....that and seeing every swinging d-ck on this side of the game with little to no line movement...

still see the caliber of athlete as skewed strongly in ucla`s favor.....particularly the offense....

and am still very concerned about dorrell...very concerned....last`s year`s bowl game effort from the uclan`s was pitiful......

seeing ar1 and box still being convinced that the bruins put out here,i`ll hang for a medium play...

i also 10 point teased ucla...the over in the hawaii game.....and the squeelers +5 this weekend vs the ravens.....the ravens just aren`t a legit playoff team in the afc..........it pains me to admit it.....the nfc,yes...the afc,no....they aren`t beating pitt 2 times this season...boller will be blitzed into numerous mistakes here...

g.l.,bud.....lets get `em home

bowl record.....4-3

under 60(120) utep/col.......

really like this play.(but also thought ucla was a good play...lol)

when people look back on utep's season, i'm sure that they'll think that they had a successful season based on their offense.but it was their defense that carried them through the year. sure they were explosive in some games, but that was against the wac teams.

but in actuality they are a below average offensive team......they averaged 5.7 yds. per play against a schedule of teams that would combine to allow 5.9 yppl to an average offense.

on the other side of the ball....utep's defense yielded only 4.9 yppl to a schedule of teams that would average 5.4 yppl against an average defense. they allowed a respectable 5.6 yppl to teams such as az. st., boise st.,& fresno st.,who would combine to average 6.0 yppl against an average defense.

colorado was average on both sides of the ball.

on offense they averaged 5.1 yppl vs. teams that would combine to allow an average of 5.1 yppl. & on defense they allowed an average of 5.6 yppl to teams that would average 5.6 yppl against an average defense.

colorado was 6-1 under on the season and 4-0 on the road.

here is a system that may interest some:

play under - all teams where the total is between 56.5 and 63 after allowing 42 points or more last game against an opponent after playing a game where 60 total points or more were scored.

ats record....30-7 81.1% since 1992.

good luck.

Ive played this the same way. This one's pretty easy - and it boils down to how much success Palmer has throwing against that Buff secondary, and for that matter, which Colorado team shows up. There's a reason they call it gambling.

Appears we're neck and neck in the MJ's contest. Looking forward to seeing you out in Vegas next month. Hope we can both cash the under this afternoon.
