HERE IS THE DEAL OREGON HAS A BETTER O - WAY MORE DIVERSE- BUT HERE IS THE DEAL THERE D IS ONE BEST IN THE COUNTRY- RANKED 12TH WHICH IS UNBELIEVABLE CONSIDERING HOW MANY OPPS THE OPPONENT HAS ON O- AUBURN ON THE OTHER HAND HAS LIABILITY ISSUES ON D(BIG ISSUES) -THE ONE THING THEY DO WELL ON D IS RUSH THE PASSER - BUT OREGONS QB IS TOP 5 IN MOBILITY- AND VERY ACCURATE- OREGON HAS ADVANTAGE iN 9 OF 11 CATEGORIES AND SOME OF THE DISPARITIES ARE HUGE.

ADD IN I PLAYED THIS EARLY AT +125 ALONG WITH ALL MY BUDDIES I LOVE THIS GAME- OREGON IS THE REAL DEAL- THIS TOTAL IS 10 POINTS TO HIGH I HAVE THEM WINNING 38-27

Are you considering the fact that Oregon's defensive stats are greatly skewed by a few games this season & a very weak offensive oppenent schedule? For example...

A 72-0 defeat of 1-11 New Mexico, the worst offensive team in D1 & a 69-0 beat down of Portland St.

In fact if you look at Oregon's schedule they hardly have faced any offensive powerhouses:

Offensive Rankings:

New Mex 120th
Tenn 68th
Zona St 43rd
Stanford 14th
Wash St 98th
UCLA 103rd
USC 28th
Washington 69th
Cal 96th
Zona 25th
Oregon St 99th
Portland St

That is 6 teams or half their schedule that is ranked 96th or lower out of 120 teams (including Portland St)

The 3 top 30 offenses that they did face scored 29, 32, & 31 against O & put up 506, 377 & 518 yards on them??? :scared

Auburn is the highest ranked O they will have faced coming in at #7 & doing that in the SEC.

Not trying to cause a stir or anything as I respect you as one of the best cappers on the site & I appreciate all your input......just some food for thought

Oregon has not faced anyone like they will in Auburn tonight.

I'm on Auburn. Here's why: Better conference - played against better competition, better o-line, better d-line, way better QB.

This should be a good game. I don't see a blowout either way, but Auburn will get the win and cover, pulling away late.

I agree Auburn D is far from great & yes Oregon will be the best O they have faced as well.

I guess I would say Oregon's O stats could be skewed a bit too, w/ 72 pts & 720 yards vs New Mex & 69 pts & 668 yards vs Portland St.

Those 2 games account for 23% of their total yards & 24% of the their pts.

Oregon's highest ranked Total D they have played was Cal & we all saw how well they produced against Cal 15 pts w/ 7 on special teams.

Cal was ranked 19th. (Auburn comes at 53rd) Auburn faced 3 top ten D's this year.

I guess we will find out soon enough.

Again thanks, congrats on a great season & keep up all the great work cappin! I always look forward to your selections!

Stanford is a GREAT team, no argument. However, that was the only real quality opponent that they beat this season. Auburn has beaten South Carolina twice, Arkansas, MSU, LSU, and Alabama, all of which are better than any team in the Pac 10 with the exception of maybe Stanford.

A case can be made for either side. I just think top to bottom and considering everything, that Auburn is the more impressive team and it will show at the end of the night. I also like the under 36 1/2 FH.

All in good discussion though. No disrespect meant. Good luck to you Thunder! :toast:
