I was reading it may have something with a TV deal to broadcast fights.
"Oscar de La Hoya created a buzz on Twitter, saying an announcement is on the way that will "shake the boxing industry in a major way." Some people I?ve spoken to believe the news surrounds a possible deal between Golden Boy and CBS for a TV contract to rival what UFC has done with FOX.
Others are hoping De La Hoya will disclose his plans for a return to the ring against Felix Sturm who is currently the 160 lb. WBA title holder. Many remember that the Golden Boy won a very controversial decision against Sturm back in 2004. Personally, with Sturm set to face Sebastian Zbik in Germany next month, which isn?t a walk in the park, I would bet on the former rather than the latter.
