Tyson Fury update

Tyson Fury update

Tyson_Fury_weigh_in_for_Rogan.jpg

Tyson Fury weighs in at his career lowest 17stone 7lbs 12oz (245 3/4lbs). He has obviously taken training camp very seriously since he mentioned he had put on 90lbs since Christmas.

See Boytsov/Guinn fight already in the books, I though it was the co-feature?

I forced action on that pathetic bout just because I thought I'd get to see it. They're not showing the women's bout are they?

Highly regarded Russian heavyweight Denis Boytsov (31-0, 25 KOs) continued his development but hardly impressed any followers with his rather unspectacular and workmanlike win over rock-solid American prospect-turned-gatekeeper Dominic Guinn. Boytsov, 26, who is ranked #2 by the WBC, #3 by the WBO, #4 by the WBA and #5 by the IBF, used his sharp jab and activity to dominate Guinn but the "Southerm Disaster" easily avoided any possibility of being stopped for the first time in his career. He also offered some resistance to the Russian making a fight (though a dull one) instead of simply losing the bout. Scores, however, were lopsided: 100-90 (twice) and 99-91 - for Boytsov. Guinn, 36, falls down to 33-9-1, 22 KOs, after his third loss in a row.

Guinn, if nothing else right now, has a beard. He might as well cash out in Germany for a while as he can probably go rounds with prospects for a few years to come.

Felix Sturm just beat up Zbik pretty badly.

Pretty depressing the way it went when if you had a Zbik bet on. Totally dominated after the 2nd round.

Personally even more demoralizing as I had a hedge set up on a prop with Sturm winning in the final 3 rounds. Ugh.

I am colder than Antarctica but I think...

Katsidis Inside Distance +120
Under 7.5 +180 have some value

His opponent Mensah is listed at 29 (which probably means he is 35), has only fough outside of Ghana once and has some really tough fights against some tomato cans. I think Katsidis fight just have too much class here.

Rios seems to be an accident waiting to happen. Sooner or later......

Looking into this in more detail, he came in at 137 and then 1h later at 139...?

Question is if he really tried to make the weight at first attempt or just thought fu.. off. Anyone any info?

Cheers

Hi Buck,

no worries sometimes you get fight correct soemtimes you dont. Thats b(etting)oxing.

I am on Fury and inside/not distance tonight as my main bet. In addition JMM in a parlay and some smal plays on Abril on the over/Draw. (maybe add more)

Not sure about:
Billi Facundo Godoy vs Carlos Manuel Baldomir
Saul Roman vs Richard Gutierrez
Mike Alvarado vs Mauricio Herrera

as I dont see any value in the current odds.

What are your picks for tonight?

-If you all recall, Zbik was originally scheduled to face Grzegorz Proksa for his EBU title. The fight fell through when Felix Sturm outbid the promoters of both fighters, Sauerland and Matchroom, respectively, and I believe Zbik was not happy w/ this because Sturm is a rival and he'd essentially be a worker to his boss. Perhaps Sturm knew this all along and purposely won the bid to secure a fight w/ Zbik, as we all know Sturm very meticulously chooses his opponents these days.

-On another note, it is two days 'til fight night for Rios, and I'm getting that feeling yet again of fearing for his health. I see it in his eyes the struggle to make weight, and I can't think of another major fighter who has more difficulty making weight. There's one picture here of Rios on the bike, which suggests he still is not at weight.

Outstanding insight 26. Right on both accounts. I get what Strum is doing; Rios, well that's another story.

Marquez/Fury bouts

Marquez/Fury bouts

I'm playing Marquez over 9.5 and Fury to win inside. Also smaller plays on Marquez not going the distance and same for Fury. I have these in various parlays/combinations. Not touching the Rios fight as there is just too much controversy for my taste. Was off on thinking Katsidis has anything left. He goes on the "shot fighters" list forthwith.
