Russell Mora, the "ref" ?

Russell Mora, the "ref" ?

If you go to youtube and review the fight between Guerrero and Katsidis, Mora was also the ref. Guerrero clearly suffered a knock down at the left hook of Katsidis when his glove touched the canvas; ref was right there. He ignored it. No knock down. Mora has issues. Or needs spectacles, or is on the take. Another funny thing was Maidana-Khan. Maidana hit ref Joe Cortez with an elbow. He DID NOT hit Khan. Cortez warned him, and then decided belatedly to deduct a point. It was bizarre. Cortez was miffed because Maidana elbowed him! Sure, it was meant for Khan, but "fair but firm" Joe acted like a little bitch. And after the fight Mares said he never hit Agbeko low! Fuking psychos.

MUCH nicer avatar! Been watching lots of video of Maidana and Guerrero fighting different guys. Maidana reminds me of a little Mayorga. Tough, aggressive, but crude and unpolished. Guerrero on the other hand is a sharp shooter and can box some. I was impressed Khan handled the hay maker right hand of Maidana. He was rocked but survived. We'll see how the ghost deals with this as he surely will get tagged at some point. Also, Maidana has great difficulty hitting a moving target. Only times he unloaded on Khan was when Khan was motionless on the ropes. Guerrero mostly fought Katsidis in the middle of the ring at range. If he does that he should win.

Comments of world class ref Brian Garry....

Comments of world class ref Brian Garry....

He was in the right positions to see the blows, especially the low blow in the 11th, that possibly cost Joseph Agbeka the bout. What compounded his lack of making the right call, was his post fight denial, after viewing the re-play, of his decision? That shows us, that he is either corrupt and refused to be fair in his ?third man? assignment. Or, he is incompetent while under pressure to do the right job. I witnessed, in disbelief, an official refusing to call the obvious fouls being committed by Mares over and over again.
Mora is in deep poop. This ain't over.

Few can argue Nevada has some of the most competent boxing judges and referees in the country, but what makes this drama so interesting is the fact vice president of King Productions Dana Jamison asked the Nevada Athletic Commission to remove Mora prior to the fight.

King claims to have received a call informing him Mora is a "Golden Boy Referee" but refuses to name the caller. The NAC refused the request and executive director Keith Kizer said Sunday he believes Mora is one of the best up-and-coming refs in the sport and will not be suspended.

Obviously the talk of both incompetence and corruption will continue until there?s something else demanding of our attention. Personally, I am simply disappointed boxing gave its detractors more ammunition after Saturday night?s fight.

The plot thickens!!!! Comments from Don "the felon" King

The plot thickens!!!! Comments from Don "the felon" King

I am pleased to see that the International Boxing Federation, the organization that sanctioned the world championship match between IBF champion Joseph Agbeko and Abner Mares on Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, took such swift action in ordering an immediate rematch. They wasted no time in determining that Russell Mora, the referee assigned to Agbeko vs. Mares, was in violation of their rules by displaying ?inappropriate conduct? for ignoring repeated low blows against my fighter, Joseph Agbeko.
