Sometimes it pays to get in early. Nearly all of my selections have seen the odds rise considerably.
Patrick Lopez (-145) - large I think Lopez is the better fighter here. He has been showing steady improvement against decent opposition, and think he is a contender in the making. Even his close loss to Joseito Lopez was good, and he has gotten better since. For Coleman's part, I'm not all that impressed with him. I thought he lost to Arnaoutis, who doesn't have much left in the tank at all. I'm not sure that he does anything better than Lopez. He doesn't hit that hard, and isn't terribly active in there. I do think many rounds will be competitive, especially early on, and we could see a close one on the cards. 116-112 Lopez.
Guillermo Jones (-170) - large Enigmatic Jones finally back in the ring. Of course I don't like him being on the shelf for two years, but Brudov has not fought in more than a year himself. I think Guillermo is an excellent fighter. He is very sharp and accurate with his punches, and has outclassed guy's (Arslan, Braithwaite) who were expected to challenge him. Also beat Cunningham. Unless he's really fallen off due to inactivity, I think he will have much too much for a limited brawler like Brudov. Fight also in Jones' homeland of Panama.
I also parlayed these two picks, and added a couple other guy's for a hopeful good payoff.
Parlay additions:
Poonsawat (-365) Opponent Lee has been an overachiever, but he's in deep here. I like Poon a lot, and think he is one of the more solid fighters in the game. Lee will give a good account of himself, but it won't be enough. I don't think Lee is as good as Poon's recent opponent Hosono.
Javier Castro (-175) Castro is a solid and improving guy. I thought he beat Antonio Diaz a while back. Ameth Diaz has the ability to surprise, but he is chinny. This will probably be competitive, but I think Castro is a fighter on the upswing.
One doggie play:
Stephen Foster (+320) - small I make Kirk the favorite, but not by this much. Kirk is gettin' old. I think he's been flattered lately by recent soft opposition. Foster will come to fight hard. He's got a good chin, and if big punching Kirk can't blast him out of there, this is essentially an even go. Foster is definitely in with a chance here.
Still mulling over a couple more things, but this is the heart of it for this weekend.
Good luck guys!!
