First of all, my play on Julio is very small, its strictly a value play as I think the odds I got were way too high. There's a reason why I'm not playing Julio larger than I did, I agree with punchy's assessment of Juan completely. I admit I had my doughts in the past when he was consistently matched with slow plodders with no handspeed. But the young man has looked great in his last few fights and he apears to have a very good chin, his work rate is unreal and his power has improved. I think team Diaz knew that the smaller Freitas was fragile and would crumble under the pressure, but it was still an impressive win. I'm not predicting a Julio win here, at even money I take Juan, but at +400 I take Julio who is much taller and can switch to southpaw at any time.

i agree with pretty much all of this post.....i`m not a huge fan of either guy,but juan has kinda grown on me....somewhat....
both guys were VERY protected early on.....it was hard to gauge actually how good they were...
i think that julio has a puncher`s chance ....julio has never been a particularly busy fighter...his work rate isn`t scintillating...he`ll have to move alot early on...
he could out-slick juan early and have an opportunity to get him to walk into something substantial...it`s possible...if i recall, popo staggered juan pretty badly in their fight...
my opinion is that he`ll do well early, but that juan`s pressure will wear him down....sort of like the julio/castillo fight...
but,the odds are tempting...julio needs to get juan`s respect early....and discourage that relentless pressure...
julio,at those odds,is worth a look...he has to try and hurt juan early,imo...keep him honest...
